I make videos about art, pixel art, game dev and any creative projects I'm working on!
A true creative divvy.
What does 'Divvy' mean?
A north-eastern English word originating from the mining community's use of different types of lamp whilst working 'doon the pit'. An early, dangerous lamp nicknamed the Scotch Davy ('Divvie') had a high propensity to explode, and was superseded by safer lamps such as the George Stephenson ('Geordie') lamp. So someone would be unwise to go down a mine with a Davy/Divvie lamp, hence the word coming to mean a daft or silly person. Non-offensive and can be affectionate.
'Ha, you're such a divvy' or 'He's a right div.' (Modern usage)

Is there any duration constraint with using asprite? I was wanting to work on a music video for a song I made, and was looking to animate like, 3-4min worth. Would the method be the same, just on a much larger scale? thanks!
I mean i smile whole vid i think i just found my solutions.

Thank you! Your input is well appreciated 🤝🏻
I Like the tutorials... Like I can understand em... But I feel it goes by waaaayyy too fast for me. Either that, or I just cant grasp anything at all... But I have the just of how this is done... Thank you! ^-^
this is very niceeeeeeee
amazing work
I started watching gameplay videos because I didn’t have a computer (or money) to play most of the games. I was more interested in the story elements and art direction of the games than the gameplay mechanics. But now that I’ve been watching a lot of Godot tutorials I’m starting to see how gameplay mechanics affect the storytelling and even art direction in these games. I’ve got my work cutout alright 🥲
Why not go into animation or comics if you’re not as interested in game mechanics? You could always just create visual novel type games that don’t have a strong emphasis on mechanics either?

Is that the trash taste theme I can hear in the background lol
I know this may seem like an odd request, but I'm a game developer who's making a top-down roguelike, but I'm stuck on just on a roll animation, whenever I try animating it on my own it ends up really ugly. At the moment I have all of the necessary animations for my game. Can you make a roll animation for me? if yes just reply to my comment if you're interested. Thanks for reading. You really don't have to, but I thought this would be a good place to ask.
I love your art!
Thanks so much!
how about the name "Dizzy"? sounds like daisy, but... you get dizzy watching her run around. I uhhdunno Beautiful look so far, looks great!
why won't add lumbeh as a skin or maybe as an Easter egg? since the animation and art is already done
1:15 👀👀👀
literal boner
Thank you!! This is one of the best 'art' tutorials I've ever watched. Clear, concise and with excellent info'. :)
I think its awesome that many of these shortcuts are the same across other software that's not for pixel art. Like Blender, UE5, Godot, Unity, etc
Haha, when you puked up those things 0:40 i didnt expect that
I would be happy if you answer this question , thank you Walking in Aseprite etc. I don't understand how they do the attack effects. Can you express this with characters consisting of zeros? (pixel art)
Not sure what you mean, perhaps join the community discord to share more and we can help you
I like your hair style, shows confidence and strength
Thanks 😊

Perfect simple tutorial for a beginner gamedev whos not so good at art. THANK YOU!!!
Sorry to hear about your parent, don’t left marketing at the end , it may take more time than you think
Just finding your videos, they're exactly what I need! Working on my own game in Godot and I've never done art before, so I'll be using this video and your animation tutorial to help get me there. Thanks!
4:00 LMAO, relatable. XD
this really helped but its kind of confusing seeing everything in different places
This is much better than the modern art that many social media displays
:(
Huge improvement! Keep going!
Thanks! You have just saved me!
What about Planty McPlantface? 😅
its weird doing something for 20+ years and then see someone add phrases to really things you didn't have words for. Jaggies made me laugh
Im new to the channel and ive been watching all your tutorials and dev logs, they are incredibly inspiring! I already have Faceplant on my wishlist i cant wait to see the final game i wish you the best of luck! With life and game development 💛
Thanks for the love and support
When we fighting the dragon?
I got an idea
Very informative. Thank you!
Do you do all this on separate layers?
Yes! Separate the parts into different layers and focus on one at a time while always inspecting them together it’s much easier
🤣🤣🤣🤣✌️😎 continua adelante viejo!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
😮 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I need this video in Spanish
I mean, Spider-Man did look goofy
I would've said it was a happy little accident, but I realized it looked a little too vulnerable to be shown on the internet
The way my heart skipped a beat. I'm so sorry man.
His web shooters had a malfunction😅
What outlined pen did you use? It looks very nice
Just a micron, they’re monowidth which is a new thing for me to try, kinda fun
Yup. Happens to the best of us.
It took me a second to realise that it wasn't intentional, I feel like something like that could work if his web fluid was expired or something.
I was trying to get more paint out but didn’t realise how much would come out haha noobtoons
spider man just buzzed, damn
I would have tried to use is it as a part of the art "there are no mistakes, only happy accidents" - bob ross
