"As Good As It Gets" - Final
Фильм және анимация
As Good as It Gets (1997) Director: James L. Brooks
#
I might be the only person on the face of the earth that knows you're the greatest woman on earth. I might be the only one who appreciates how amazing you are in every single thing that you do, and how you are with Spencer, "Spence," and in every single thought that you have, and how you say what you mean, and how you almost always mean something that's all about being straight and good. I think most people miss that about you, and I watch them, wondering how they can watch you bring their food, and clear their tables and never get that they just met the greatest woman alive. And the fact that I get it makes me feel good, about me.

I don't know what it is. But whenever this movie ends and fades to black, it always makes me feel kind of sad. It's almost as if it is a reminder that none of it is real and these wonderful characters aren't real. I always want to find a way to turn the light back on and continue being with them in their world. Very few movies give me that type of feeling. There's a special magic to this movie. It's a beautiful blend of likeable but flawed characters, uplifting soundtrack and the romanticized New York setting. The whole movie even has a bright "sunshiny" color palate if that makes sense. And it flows almost like a great play. So great.

Well said.
I saw this movie when I was 12 around the first week it was released on VHS at Blockbuster and found it a very quirky and light romantic comedy but nearly 25 years later to be a single man struggling with anxious OCD traits and post-pandemic social alienation it's just... heart breakingly inspiring

Great movie, great actors, great ending. Best Romantic movie of all time
Great, great scene. Great actors. Great movie. Unforgettable...
I used this speech for my darling wife Cath at our wedding. I altered it slightly. Me: I feel sorry for the guy in the drive through, the girl at the check out, and even the cop who gave her a ticket for rushing to pick up her nephews at school because their Mom was rushed to hospital. I feel sorry for them because they just met the most caring selfless loving person on this earth, and they will never know it. And I’m so happy because I do, and now she is my wife.

As good as it gets ... Is one of those movies that will be timeless . A great example of how two opposites attract . Something most people don't understand . They say your eyes are the windows of your soul . I believe that true .
The best movie, Jack Nicholson and Helen hunt absolutely nailed that movie.
This is the finest work an actress can do. It is art. It is authentic. It is alchemy.
She is a really good mom. As soon as he mentions her son's name her bad feeling just went away just like that. And Helen Hunt is a great actor to show that with such grace.

This film is SO good. One of the best ever made. 🎭
Beautiful ending. The background music made it even better.
I’m the oldest of 4. One thing my mom and I shared together outside of my other siblings was movies. She always made me watch movies with her and this one one of them. She showed me it when I was probably 8 years old and it’s one one my favorites still. I’m 28 now.
I really loved this show; AS GOOD AS IT GETS.
And this is how you say how beautiful she is
I like how it sounded cheesy at first, then finished being one of the best movie lines ever.
This film has always showed me that some women, but not all, just want to be heard! Who is with me? Love this film! My favourite scene of all time, still to this day, and take it from this mad Brit from across the pond, Jack Nicholson and Helen Hunt are both amazing actors!
It's amazing how beautifully Jack delivered the compliment to Helen. Being a rough, obnoxious, jerk with severe OCD problems changed his tone of voice, very few actor can do that. Yes Al Pacino can do that too. No doubt both of them are legends and my favorite actors among others too.

What a truly wonderful film, which I have just watched for the first time this evening. How does he keep doing it ? Jack Nicholson is so brilliant, I don't have the words to describe his performance. Helen Hunt is so adorable, and a perfect match/foil for Nicholson. The entire film had me smiling, laughing, crying, and in need of a hug.

Gosh....I love this movie..soooo much ~:ö)
Helen Hunt is so good at acting that you can't even tell she's acting. Like...I just feel every time that she is that character in real life. Lol, idk if that makes sense, but she's really great.
She was reluctant to hear all the nice things he had to say about her until he mentioned her son. Letting her know what an amazing mom she is. Her whole face changed. I think even with as hard as she works and everything she does for her son, she often questions to herself am I a good mother? (which I think most moms do) So when she heard him say "how amazing you are with spence" her whole demeanor changed. She felt fully seen. ❤
When everytime I feel boring then I come here to watch this final ending scene.
you should you know.... because that's the sweetest thing... I wish I told my love before it was too late... don't ever wait, BECAUSE IF YOU DO YOU'LL BE LIKE ME... WISHING YOU DID FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!

That's the point of the phrase. It's not a good pickup line, it just show how awkward he is talking with people in real life and how Helen Hunt character accept him in spite of that. In case you didn't notice Melvin is not someone you want to model if you want to be a ladies man. Sorry about the girl tho, I've also quoted corny lines from movies to poor results, it's all in the context.
