Artstetten Castle - Celebrity chef Johann Lafer cooks a royal birthday dinner | Cuisine Royale

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Cuisine Royale has been invited to Artstetten Castle by the ancestors of the Habsburg Royal Family in Austria. To celebrate her daughter’s birthday, Princess Anita Hohenberg is organising a dinner with the celebrity chef Johann Lafer.
The fairy-tale castle was the residence of the Habsburg dynasty and is now the final resting place of Franz Ferdinand of Austria, whose murder in 1914 started the First World War.

I loved this video! First off, I will be using the Countess's manner of setting cutlery- brilliant! Also, I'm obsessed with that pear tartare with the crayfish- I WILL be trying that too

For finer settings, always place a doily between the plates. The chef appears to be wearing pajamas in that type of chef's jacket.

In Austria, the nobility was abolished more than 100 years ago. And that's a good thing. So there are no more Austrian archdukes, countesses, etc..

I think the husband and wife moved from France, not because they had "two" children at that time in a "small" flat (It might be small to them but huge to normal people). They know that if they moved in with her mom into the castle, they don't have to worry about money AT ALL! I feel like this was a set up and planned by the husband.

Could also be that since he was working on an oil rig before they moved to the castle, that he realized that he was missing out on his kids childhoods and decided he didn’t want to be seen as more of a stranger then their father. We don’t know for sure either way.

So that world never died out with WWI. Good on them for making four children. That élan is passing out of Europe.
