Having seen how well this crude version works, I now know how to finish refining the design to collapse completely as well as extend completely, remain sturdy instead of torquing or bouncing, and also how to improve the weight distribution. After which, I will make it available to download as a papercraft template through Towerdweller.com.
Goal: 18ft wingspan MINIMUM
Materials in this prototype:
- thin cardboard from frozen pizza boxes
- thumbtacks
- nails
- white glue
- hot glue
- silver spray paint
- 3/4'' wide gray ribbon

You inspired me, so I built my own set of wings and currently fly to the shops to get milk and bread.

you should make a template or post demensions for it so other people can use it to make a costume

Sadly, no. I couldn't afford to keep experimenting with this design at the scale that I wanted, so I never finished it. (Most important to me besides sheer size is fluid-movement----I won't settle for clunky wings even if they look good.) Thank you for looking through my site for it. I appreciate your interest, and I'm sorry to disappoint. I still dream of finishing these EVENTUALLY, but can't promise they'll be worth the 2-3 years it has taken.

I'm sorry to hear that, but it is understandable. The reason I wanted the templates is because of the really beautiful movement.

Eu Tyto Alba ill take theme even if their not finished those are beautiful created wings and I would keep theme in a China cabinet just to look at every day lol
