Do women go into labor sooner if they have a baby with this condition ?

No. Its not like that. This deformity takes place in the 2nd week of pregnancy. Its not something that happens in the end of pregnancy to trigger an early labour. Very good question ,though. Keep it up. Thanks.

My relative just had an AMC baby yesterday & they've known since a few months into the pregnancy something was going on with his legs. Its both legs right from the knee down are formed like he is sitting "Indian style"... Im wondering what are the chances of them being able to correct this? He does move both legs so they're definitely functional

Thankfully nothing else is going on with him.. they tested his spine etc...

If its not severe..exercises and splints will help..else corrective surgery would be reqd along with exercise n splint..but the surgery also is not very complicated.. I pray the baby's gonna be fine.

@@thephysioguide1262 Thank you so much!! Ive been up all night & now all day researching, praying etc. His condition appears like it would be an easy fix since its just right at his knees & below & he moves them, but Im no doctor. I cant thank you enough for replying.

@@thephysioguide1262 Sorry to bother you but I must ask since Ive just watch the video. @3:01 the first baby with his one leg deformed... my aunts babys legs are just like that, only both legs. Would you consider that severe?

@@tasha9650 severity is based on how bent the joint is..and how many are involved..only 2 joints is fine..but then if the bent is more or if joint is twisted,one might need surgery more than once.. to gradually achieve the desired range step by step.. In most cases..corrective surgeries do wonders.. and change the outcome unlike in the past. . All the luck and patience to your family. God bless🙏

Do all babies with arthrogryposis need a feeding tube or support to breathe ? What are the chances my baby will need that ? She is affected in her arms and legs.

Here in AMC only the hand and legs are deformed or contacted. They are normal babies. They dont need tubes

*contracted. I have treated a few of these patient although the condition is rare..when i worked with a pediatric surgeon...if deformity is severe surgeries are done to correct the deformity even till adulthood to give them a better body posture.. Thats it. Thats the debilitating part. Rest all is good.
