From another twenty-something who has also been having the same struggle with having only one room to keep my entire life in and being in a place where life/finances won't allow otherwise - sending you lots of love and patience. We will get to the place we want to be, and for now we have to make our own little pocket of energy as best we can. The frustration is so so valid though! Take care

i absolutey love your little ramble on american girl dolls in this video, as a trans guy i've definitely had a similar experience lately that was impacted by the barbie movie! i only grew up with a sister so there wasn't any "boy stuff" in our house so all the stuff i feel nostalgic about is "girl stuff". and it's so ridiculous the interests that get policed just because they're feminine?? i was never big into dolls, but i absolutely loved taylor swift growing up and was essentially hiding the fact that i still liked her music from the time i was 11 or 12, because it was "girly" and "immature", but lately i've been letting myself indulge in those types of interests more and it's insane how much happier you are lmao. 0 people bat an eye at men going insane over football and paying $3k on superbowl tickets but how dare women/anyone comfortable with femininity pay a similar amount for a concert ticket. anyway i loved this vlog! i hope you heal well from surgery!

I felt this so bad. I'm 24 living at home, and I've been blessed that I'm allowed to have the animals and hobbies I have, but it's so hard to try to move out when you know there's a ton of things you'd need to cover for yourself. Thankfully my friends don't mind too much, but it is a bit awkward when mom wants to "hang with the friends" 😭 I'm genuinely relieved though that this is more common than we've been led to believe, living at home and all that. We got this 💪

great looking tigers 🥰 I usually get rid of the packaging for supplies, it can take up so much extra room. Brands get mixed up, but its still easy to pick out a certain brand if needed🙂

i only keep the packaging if its helpful for storage (like if the items come in a case or whatever) OR if its really cute and my hoarding tendencies kick in lmao

I know this may be weird but understand what it's like to be a fully grown adult living with parents. Due to medical and mental health problems I'm 25 and still in online college, but it is what it is. Just remember, times are far different now and your doing all you can to survive, not everyone has to go through medical or mental health healing the same way. I think you're doing a good job and I'm glad to hear you're trying to get back into your interests, it makes me want to do the same!

I totally get your feeling about being stuck in one room in the house of your parents. I wasnt able to move out from my parents until I was 32 and had only a really really small room. And where I live you dont have build in closets but you have to add those to the already tiny room (8 m² are about sq ft) So I had my bed, my shelves and my wardrobe all in that tiny space. I used a bunk bed to add additional space. I couldnt sit upright in my bed but that way I had space for a big desk underneath the bed. Bute yeah I still head not enough room for all my art stuff, sewing stuff and the books I loved. So I totally get your struggles!

In case you wanted to add more space to your kallax cube unit under your desk, they have a shelf insert to divide a cube in two, makes it easier to store more/smaller things. Its article number is 204.237.20 [There is also a four shelf iteration, two drawers option, or a "bottle storage" divider, but not sure how helpful those would be for your storage needs.] Also, the stuff sitting on top of your sticker organization mini drawer units: maybe it would look more corralled on a wall storage piece, like a pegboard? There's the skådis one from IKEA as well that has lots of different accessories for storing different items. Not trying to be an IKEA ad 😅 just trying to be helpful Thanks for sharing your AGD joy with us and the pretty tigers.

Unsolicited advice from someone whos live in many different houses with a home studio - and also had seperated studio before and now consolidated back to a home studio... Unsure if this is your one desk or just your shipping desk but youve prioritied shipping stuff on the desktop so you could shift pensil and most used supplies to the desktop and move store stuff into the roller cart - those kinds of carts are very cute dont get me wrong but they dont utelise the space they take up very well unless you have tall supplies or boxes that fit into them. To get more space you could also use a large pegboard to hang paints, have detachable buckets for pencils etc. Alternatively you could add shallow shelves on the wall and shift your gallery wall lower/more linear.

i just reorganized all my art supplies too so they'd be where i can see them, my adhd really makes stuff outta sight outta mind so it's a struggle to use my stuff. michaels recently got some nice open stackable containers and having those containers (the different sizes stack together too) has made my art more fine and have a better variety in it. trying to maximize your space as an art is so hard but you make it look easy lol

Since I was growing up I thought why girls have to give up what they enjoyed as a kid like you mentioned. My friend told me we are grown ups (middle schoolers) so we need to give up barbies and dolls. I told her I AM NOT! I love them and I don't care. I don't brag about it but I have lots of barbies and still buy some and look in the toy section. So I am glad that the barbie movie has been helping others think the same

Your energy felt way off. I could feel it. Call me crazy, but I started feeling anxious myself. I hope you feel better and everything goes well. I get the whole fitting your whole life in one room because sadly… same. My partner, two daughters and myself live with my MIL while we have enough for our first home. It is torture.

I had never thought about it that deep before, but you're totally right! It's perfectly okay for boys to grow up and still love and be invested in those hobbies as adults but I don't ever see that courtesy extended for girls and women. But I do blame the concept of growing up and out of childish things on not necessarily society (Although that's a big part) but on our friends and family. I see so many scenarios where girls give up on liking "childish" things because their friends do. Or family pressures them to let the things they love go because they're "growing up" and if you hold onto it into your adult years, you're looked at as the weird person. Which is crazy to me. You're telling me that we encourage boys to continue to love their hobbies into their adult years but not girls? All this to say I'm happy to see women still hold onto things they love even if it's for "kids". Also, seeing the American girls doll reminds me of my grandmother collecting them and they joy she has for them. It's refreshing to see your enjoyment of them.
