Actually, it all spins down to being about Copyrights and Trademarks. If you don't own certain ones and can't "lease" the rights to certain things, names, costumes, even catch phrases, you don't get to use them. If you do use them without "permission" aka financial compensation, you get sued and lose your cred in the industry. Two of the worst and most confusing "worlds" that involve Copyrights and Trademarks are the Superman and Batman "Worlds". That's because DC wasn't very good at tying up copyrights and trademarks back in the day. Stan Lee got as famous in the movie and tv industry not for his creation of superheroes and comic book stories, but because he tied up numerous copyrights and trademarks pertaining to his work. He really was the first one in comic books that did it. There is some leeway in what is called "Fair Use" where you can use copyrighted and trademarked material in certain situations and not get sued. Plus, if you keep your use short and quick and it isn't plastered all over the world, nobody that does the lawsuits knows to come after you LOL. If they do, they often send C&D letters first because they don't want to waste money and time suing people that can't pay when they win LOLOLOL. My father-in-law, who is an award-winning actor and director doesn't even understand all of the crazy laws surrounding copyrights and trademarks. He tried to incorporate a "Batman" reference in one of his movies that he acted in and directed about him, his orangutan, and his brother in the "Underground" Fight World and they thought they had all the bases covered when they didn't. That reference had to be cut from the movie AFTER it had already been released. It was a very costly mistake, one he has NEVER made since LOLOLOL.

As Waller would later say "Gotham always needs a Batman. So you could say that even Terry recruited a Batman in his old age, and so on and so on. And Rip has seen them all die out one by one. Could also reference other heroes with similar names. For example there is Steel/Henry Irons. He literally wears a suit of armor made from steel that functions like Marvel's Ironman's suit.

2:09 Originally they were going to have Felicity become Oracle in the Arrowvervse, that's why she was paralyzed and was going to stay that way for the entire series; but WB was threatening to take away the licence from CW due to a breach of contract for using a Batman character or something like that. That's the reason they had that nanochip subplot and had her walking again within like 3 - 4 episodes

My favorite theory is that the Supergirl and Arrow/Flash universes are "broken". They should be one reality, and there are still some things missing. Bruce Wayne in the Arrow/Flash universe is just Bruce Wayne his parents never died. The "vigilante" in the Supergirl universe isn't Batman, but some other stand in. Wonder Woman is MIA. Somehow one universe was "broken". Arrow/Flash are one universe with existing elements trying to take the place of some of the missing bits (with Green Arrow taking on the Batman role, and the Flash taking on the Superman role). One of the larger fragments coalesced into the Supergirl universe. Superman was too much of a fundamental concept to be erased so the Supergirl universe formed, but bits are sill missing from it. I could see some grand arc for the Legends of Tomorrow in which they have to fix the broken universe. The saddest part would be needing to make sure Bruce Wayne's parents meet their tragic end. Perhaps Joe Chill had been killed as part of the universe-breaking and the Legends have to save the small-time crook without knowing why (though perhaps Rip knows).

So here’s my question. There seems to be a Bruce/Batman across each Earth. But my question is, which one is the true Batman. This sounds odd I know but look at everyone else. Flash and Arrow both are on the same Earth aka earth 1 and are the proper versions of those characters. For supergirl and Superman, we see them on earth 38 as there proper selfs. But for Batman though, it seems he’s Batman across those earths. But which one are we actually going to see? Will we see the one on Earth 1 or Earth 38? It’s very confusing cause there’s Batman references across both earths, making it harder to identify which one were gonna see.

Flash and Arrow are both on (at least) Earth-3. It's mentioned by Reverse Flash that he came from (an assumed) Earth-1 but intentionally changed the past so that the Justice League wouldn't exist and that Barry wouldn't get his powers. After Barry learns that mother should have lived, he tried to fix it and ends up failing. He returns to the future, creating an identical Earth-3 in the process since Earth-2 Flash didn't exist until after Earth-2 was created. This is all assuming that they don't take in account of other universes in which the Justice League already exist so they could evidently be even further down the line.

The original plan was to make a series on batman but DC refused thus They adapted arrow instead and since for a majority of people both are quite the same They kind of make arrow a batman eco+ with a bow Bruce and oliver has some similarities But batman and arrow clearly doesn't have some

The newest episode of Black Lightning his daughters girlfriend is reading The Outsiders comic so maybe on their Earth he's fictional, but exists on Supergirls Earth and Earth 1&2? I wish we'd get a cameo even if it's just his Silhouette kind of like Superman in season 1 of Supergirl, maybe on the Titans show it'll happen, I mean Nightwing is in it and you need Batman to have Nightwing.

Yeah, and she also wore like a black leather cat costume to a superhero themed ball (and referenced Supergirl). Also, the original Teen Titans cartoon did manage to get away with a Robin without Batman technically showing up. Then again, it would be weird with DC's current obsession with putting him in everything to avoid it in a show with Nightwing in.

Yeah. It's kind of sad because it looks very good from what I've seen of it. It's not like Seasons 2-4 Flash or Arrow Seasons 3-6 (not counting 5) where the sharks have been jumped and the cousins have been Oliver'ed (if those references make sense).

No, Supergirl is from Earth-38, the other shows are on Earth-1. We have yet to know from which Earth Black Lighting hails. Kaden - Batman must exists in the Arrowverse because without The Joker there is no Harley and without Batman there is no Joker

If he appeared on Arrow he'd probably fight Oliver to a stand still and later joke about who would've won. DC would not allow Green Arrow to beat Batman, but the CW would not allow their main character to loose a fight like that. If he appeared on Supergirl, he most likley appear togheter with Superman. But let's be real, they'd never let Batman appear on Arrow or Supergirl. MAYBE he'll appear on Titans one day because of Robin (Like Superman on Supergirl).

Who would love to have a Batman CW show like when he's first starting out as Batman.

he forgot one for the flash in season 1 when he got the nerd survival kit the first comic book he pulled out was a batman comic

I think the show Gotham is going to be the origin of Bruce Wayne in the Arrow verse, I know in the show he's still young only like currently 15 years old, but if you notice they still have flip phones, and never see modern day cars or even technology or social media plus it is never confirmed what year it takes place, so it could take place in the early mid 2000. it's a bit of a stretch but wold be really awesome to see the rise of Bruce Wayne leading to Arrowverse.

“I’ve seen Men of Steel die and Dark Knights fall.” So the plural bothers me. Is this a reference to Crisis on Infinite Earths? The story to that is a huge villain (Anti-Monitor) brings the dimensions together to fight him (Earth 2, Earth 3...etc). Very possible.

Dapper Penguin Men of steel = superman AND superboy Dark knights = the bat family (e.g batman, robin, night wing etc) So he’s probably referring to superman and batman in the arrow universe (if they’re still alive)

I love how Batman being a human being with no super powers is somehow more mystical to beings that has super speed or caped wonders. It's almost like hes a mythical legend, so legendary even worlds like Mortal Kombat acknowledges Batman as some sort of folklore. He's just so damn badass.

So, basically, they went back to Pre-Crisis 1984 and back, with the multiple Earths and such. At least this Superman is a bright sort, versus his big screen incarnation.

Pre-Crisis there were infinite Earths. They went with "The New 52" where there's 52 Earths. Even though there's actually 53 but the last one is so bad nobody wants to talk about it.
