@@krzysztofkozakiewicz3920 Tbh Tony is supposed to be all of those things while still being good. While I do like the MCU version of Tony more. This and how he is generally portrayed within the comics is far more in line with the character as self evident as that may seem. The MCU's portrayal of the character has made even long time comic readers forget what kind of person he actually was and still is. While it has been awhile since I've read the Civil War issue in the MCU it was pretty obvious that Tony was almost 100% in the right. Yet in the comics Tony was portrayed as an antagonist. It's not a matter of constantly turning him into an asshole, addict, or villain. Tony has almost always been each of those things from the very start.

@@mee091000 I know he was like that, but many times they are making him redeem himself, but a few comics later he goes back to his old habits because writers don't have any other idea what to do with him. Back in 80-2000's it at least looked like Tony was trying to become a better person and each downfall felt real, nowadays it's "I'm a good guy now. Now I'm a megalomaniac asshole. Now I'm good again. And now I can't stop drinking.".

@krzysztofkozakiewicz3920 You're exactly right. In the days of Michelene(who I would consider the architect of modern Iron man) you saw from his perspective that he was at his core a good man...with tough habits to break. It was often outside factors that Tony would try to handle alone that took him to a breaking point that would cause him to act harshly or even turn back to drinking. Even as much of a villain as they portrayed him in civil war...he wasn't twirling his goatee as he played his role. We saw every bit of his inner turmoil and his devastation over the fallout. The failure of many of today's writers is forgetting Tony's road to self improvement. The end of the Extremis Arc ties this up so perfectly with the recurring theme of Tony trying to become a man he can look at in the mirror. It's better for writers to remember Tony is among the cream of the crop heroes on the planet...and he does it for the RIGHT reasons.

I wish we could have more of this from Tony in the MCU. Like Tony lives after endgame but the events of Far From Home and No Way Home still happen. Somehow, Tony gets all his memories of Peter years after No Way Home. Tony learns that Mysterio is alive and becomes a man on a mission. Tony goes on a man hunt for Beck. Tony catches Beck and puts the fear of god in him before beating the crap out of him and sending him to jail. Tony is beyond mad not only because Beck took everything from Peter by revealing his identity which led to Peter being erased from everyone’s mind, but also because he’s mad at himself. Tony finally realizes that Vulture, Mysterio, and No Way Home are all ramifications of his bad decisions and Peter cleaned up his messes and suffered for it

weather Tony was justified for firing Beck or not, it doesn’t change the fact that Tony caused Mysterio. Something right you do can lead to bad things which still makes them your fault. Even a good person can have moments when they’re a fool or a jerk. Like how Tony blamed peter for the fiery disaster when it was his fault for ignoring and disregarding Peter. Tony left Peter with false pretenses and false hope of being trained and prepared to join the avengers but Tony ignored him and contradicted himself. Tony told Peter to up his game but also to stay to the ground. Tony tried to stop Peter from becoming a better hero instead of helping him reach his potential and acted like he was in charge of him when he wasn’t. Tony destroyed Peter’s self esteem and made him out as some reckless child who doesn’t think before acting instead of taking responsibility for what he caused with his own inaction. But that’s really the writers fault for making MCU Spider-Man and Ironman simp instead of the inspiring young man who stands up for himself and will do what he knows is right even if someone like Ironman tells him it’s wrong. Peter’s motivation for chasing vulture should’ve been because it was right and the heroes above him are ignoring him instead of trying to impress Tony and join the avengers and not caring if Tony will be mad at him for disobeying him. And Far From Home makes it look like Beck only became evil because Tony fired him after he stole credit for Beck’s hologram technology and gave it a name he thought was disrespectful. And the fact that Mysterio’s minions were all former Stark employees who hated Tony only proves that Tony wasn’t such a great guy. Yeah Tony was a hero and a good man but that’s not all he was. Everyone has more than one side to them. Both Homecoming and Far From Home have villains and many criminals whose motivations come directly from Tony and in both cases, it’s a result of Tony disregarding the middle class people. Vulture, Mysterio, and the events of No Way Home are all ramifications of Tony’s bad decisions. If Tony didn’t steal Vulture’s job and leave him in bankruptcy, Tomes wouldn’t have become a criminal. If Beck was crazy, Tony still should have fired him but shouldn’t have stolen credit for Barf and leave Beck with nothing. Then Beck might not have become Mysterio, Peter wouldn’t have been framed and exposed, and No Way Home wouldn’t have happened and Peter wouldn’t have lost everything. And I’m not trying to cause hate for Ironman. I’m saying that having an Ironman 4 based on this idea would be a perfect way of closing Tony’s story like Steve’s with a perfect sort of redemption arc

When Tony got back from space and playing around with the Guardians of the Galaxy he decided to reform the Avengers. 3 of the young Marvel heroes; Spider-man, Ms. Marvel and Nova wanted to be on the team and it was ultimately decided that they would be allowed. While most of the Avengers were too busy to look after the kids due to dealing with their own personal lives (Vision's family was quite literally exploding and Jane Foster had cancer) Tony was relatively free and ended up as the group "dad". A lot of what you saw in the MCU between Tony and Peter and even MCU Peter in general is taken from the comics Tony and Miles relationship and Miles in general. Tony ultimately ends up basically dying while fighting Carol Danvers to protect Miles from her and splinters the young heroes from the adults completely causing them to leave to form the Champions, their own form of Avengers. Iron Man Annual #1 comes after Tony comes back from the dead and Tony doesn't miss a beat with being "Iron Dad."

@EastsideRay Pretty much. Miles has a significantly more up to date backstory. Peter's is more fitting for the 70-80s. Getting bullied by Flash Thompson doesn't make much sense today when kids don't even look up from their phones to even notice a bully. Sam Rami's Spider-Man is a faith adaptation of Peter's origin. And It feels completely alien. Like having an aunt that's older than most modern teens' great grandmothers, lol. They definitely fixed that in the MCU. Most people have kids in their 20s, so any aunt would be at most in their 40s, and that's only if the aunt is the older sibling. Hell, Miles origin takes place when he's 13 years old. So it got heavily changed for Spiderverse. MCU Peter's adaptation is technically closer than Miles, which is funny.

Here's what would happen if other Marvel Heroes learn what the Acesor did to Miles: Captain America: Acesor's goons all out cold, Quantum get his ass handed to him by getting knocked out by Cap's shield, and Acesor becomes scrap. Hulk: The entire building leveled with no survivors. She-Hulk: Does the same thing as her cousin. Peter: Acesor's goons are all in a coma including Quantum and Acesor's body get destroyed with the AI trapped in a special gadget Pete made to imprison dangerous AI. Punisher: Pure bloodbath. Nick Fury: Ordered a procession airstrike on the building not give a fuck about the people inside. Fantastic Four: Everyone inside the building are put in a special cell built by Reed Richard with Acesor and Quantum put in a very special cell. Thor: Just obliterate the entire building with a single lightning bolt. Also Acesor did the right thing on bailing as if Aaron caught him he's a goner as he may be a criminal, but he's also a caring uncle and he'll be damned if he let someone who torture his nephew get away with it.

I've been enjoying how well they've thought out Iron Man's capabilities in these newer comics, there's even a Civil War fight where Luke Cage, Spiderman and another legit jump Iron Man in a stadium, and he not only washes them, but he solo-embarrasses Peter Parker in a fight... used his Spider Sense against him perfectly. Dude literally created his own Spider-Sense to use in future battles by studying Peter's defenses

Tony has never been my favorite superhero, especially the most classic part of the character, but I love when he becomes protective of the new generation, he has a certain closeness with Miles and Kamala, and I really like their relationship. I also love that he is Captain Marvel's asshole friend. And his relationship with Emma isn't bad at all. I like it when he is treated like the genius who has already made many mistakes and doesn't want to see his friends hurt, rather than the egocentric know-it-all.
