@@BrianPhillipsRC Thank you and the better half for all you do. I'm just getting back into the RC game after 25 years. I've built over 30 RC planes from scratch but never flew them. I let others with more experience fly my planes. I even built a German Taub I think it's called and all my planes were glows. I recently bought the aero scout, the arrows bigfoot, the consendo glider and the twin otter. I also bought a used p-51 1.5. I am learning so much about the electric planes and the new technology from your awesome videos. I just joined the AMA and I'll be joining the RC club located in Fredericksburg, VA. Thanks for your time responding back to me as it's quite the honor. Thank the Mrs too. Happy flying!!

I like mine too, it's well behaved, even without gyro assist. I flew mine without gyro initially, until the plane went upside down once during a hand launch, and crashed pretty hard. Nothing glue couldn't fix, but after that I did install a gyro, just to help with launching and landings. It's also very efficient and the EDF isn't too loud either.

I've broken the battery bay/nose off 4 times so far, I've become quite an expert with glue :). I bought 2 more Vipers (still in boxes) until my first Viper is totally beyond repair and I've learnt how to launch properly. In the immortal words of John McClane "Welcome to the party pal!" this little plane has been everyone's 1st EDF for the last year, and the reason Arrows embraced the 50mm EDF line. 4S really wakes it up, and it launches right out of your hand instead of nearly falling to the ground on a strong throw. Flaps are fun, and everyone always talks about adding them on these planes, but nobody ever shares HOW to do it...so, we did. I agree, in hindsight, it was a non-essential addition. In FACT, I think the spilerons would be cooler, for higher speed flying...3-5 degrees up and you'd slip even faster, with less drag from the wings ;)

Got a little snow huh. Lol. I’ve been LOVING the night timber on floats with the snow. I’ve got about 10 flights in already. I’m already looking at my next plane. Lol. I’m thinking umx a10 thunderbolt. Yes I’ve seen your vid in it a few times lol. This would be a contender if it had a rudder. Would you object to that purchase? Is there better value for something like the umx a10. The one I get after that would be the big a10. I think they are both sick planes and well priced. I’ve heard the umx foam isn’t the prettiest tho.

Big A-10 is a better value. The UMX will require an expensive battery, and not that this is a problem, but I wouldn't invest in that size class now. I'd get the big A-10 - great value, great plane, definitely MORE money, but it's better money spent. Trust me on that...the UMX is fun, but I don't find myself tripping over planes to get it out.

Any tips Brian. I am having serious hand launch issues. Seems like everytime I launch the aircraft tips to one side and drops nose first. If I do get it to take off level, it flies for like 20 ft and then even under full throttle falls to the ground. I have tried also playing with elevators while taking off. Trying to go full elevator lift or slow partial. Ive tried messing with taking off in fast rate vs slow rate at like 80/20. Still I can't get my viper to launch. Its crashed now about 6 times with me having to hot glue it back together. My banana hobby 50mm jets...same issue. All aircraft running 3S. Any information kindly appreciated. Thanks man.

It's part of the hobby, but it will make you a better pilot, going through these tough times. Don't let it get you down too much. You will crash...we all pretty much crash from time to time, but you can't let that stop you. Fix it, fly it, crash it, repeat. I have been thinking about getting the Viper 90 and have decided to go in the opposite price direction ( I think flying a $600 plane that has a tip stall tendency at low speed will give me too much anxiety at this stage of my progression in the hobby) and I want to get one of the 3 Arrows 50mm (Viper, Hawk, T-33). ?????????????? WHY! don't just adjust the plane stand "shorter" for this one or longer for the different plane sizes you are working on ?? It's not a matter of left or right, it's only forward or back, to and fro, big or little! LOL

It is very hard to adjust in and out. the foam is sooooooooo stuck on those rods. I mentioned this before, but suspect you didn't catch that video.

@@BrianPhillipsRC BUTTER LOL, Or how about a Silicon Lub If it doesn't work you could use it for other things? If not Contact your benefactor and tell him this one is defective and could he send you one with the stands further apart ;-)
