Drones and expanded SF will do all the dirty work from this point on, so none of this actually matters. Conventional ground forces are not a thing after what we saw in Iraq, totally ineffective.

Anything that reduces the potential ability to KILL the enemy efficiently and quickly, is tantamount to national suicide! No women in the front lines. Top guns and some naval positions are reasonable. But not for lifting a 380 pound 9-inch naval shell or fire control, when life suddenly goes MANUAL (NOTE: Key word, "MAN.")

that’s still a bad thing because now their platoon will be down a few bodies before deployment, which means everyone els will have to pick up the slack and that also means that these women are just a waist of space, they’ll be getting paid to just to put on the uniform and that’s it, they’ll be waisting the military’s budget on their pay, and they’ll be waisting everyone’s time

He was an absolutely outstanding competitor and athlete in highschool and those are the people needed to be successful in the infantry. Carrying a 100lb combat load up mountains plus extra ammo and heavy mortar tubes all day and then some more PT afterwards are best reserved extremely tenacious and motivated individuals.

By the time they've finished AIT, the women in the infantry know they're not ready for the job. They know that their being in Infantry is a joke, and they know that the male infantryMEN around them know they're a joke. That's not going to produce high morale and a "gung-ho" spirit. But this is something leadership should be aware of.

Female Marine (POG) here. Got out in 2012 after deploying with the Female Engagement Team. We should not be in combat roles. It has less to do with capabilities (although they play a significant role) and more to do with male/female dynamics not being conducive in a violent war setting. It's such a bad idea, but it's being rammed through. Please know that not all female Vets are cheering this on. Speaking about the females in this video: do they think it's "cool" to act like they are so above and better than the position they Signed Up For?! Wtf? Disgrace

CVCC Vette Remember the Army had a 5 to 1 more men than the Marines did. The Marines only had six divisions during WWII, and nearly losing an entire division on Iwo Jima itself. The Marines were doing the island hopping campaign with the help of the American Navy, and a few Allies. Each time when the Marines took over an island the Navy Seabees constructed landing strips for the Army Air Corps, so the B-24s and B-29s could bomb the hell out of Japan. And when the Marines captured Okinawa, Yes it was the Marines and Navy who made it possible for the Armies famous B-29 Enola Gay and Boxcar to finally end WWII. So it is time for you to read a few history books especially the Pacific Theatre and see what the Marines went through on those islands.

I've been in 16 years now, and the recruits keep getting worse. What's sad is the higher ups and the politicians won't realize it till we go to war with a standing army, and our casualties are extreme. Then they will change the military doctrine back to what it was meant to be.

in 1996 when my Infantry Brigade was suddenly tasked with a full combat deployment to Bosnia to enforce the Dayton Piece Accords we had a support PSB that was about 70% female. they were always getting "awards" and "commendations" from 1st AD for always being above like 95% deployable and mission ready. My infantry battalion NEVER saw that sort of thing due to the amount of personal damage we took in non-stop training. When 2nd BCT was activate we had less than a month to go wheels up and deploy, which is insane to expect from a heavy armor brigade, but we did. in the month (November to December) before we deployed, that "super soldier" PSB that was always closed on Monday and Friday because they were getting 4 day weekends for that deployability statues, had somewhere in the neighborhood of a 75% pregnancy's rate all of a sudden. in one month three out of four of those female soldiers got knocked up to not deploy. then the battalion commander for the unit wouldn't deploy her soldiers until they had hot running water because it would be unhealth... then when they did deploy, guess who was 90% of the forward deployed numbers... that sad sack 30% of the unit that was male... never had much respect for American female units after that...
