    Wow, I didn’t even know the strap used to go outside on the loop before, this is a very good overall explanation of all the aspects of straps. I can tell that’s an Elmay’s strap, that one is my least favorite strap material. Your explanations between hook and toproll high or low and hand depth and height were the best I’ve heard so far.

    Janis what do you think of the Crazy George/Travis Bagent style of grip? It seems they both get depth with palm yet don't extend fingers for containment. Rather they bunch their fingers up on opponents thumb. It seems it helps target pronation and rotation while giving up wrist. Thanks

    yea travis has a tremendus strenght in the wrist and fingers , with that he can gain the position in strap and win quickly

    Only if both competitors want it. The strap makes the match more about arm strength and less about hand. It reduces your ability to climb and get out on the hand. I personally prefer pulling without it.

    Back in the days armwrestlers were sprinting vs each other, to take the non - buckle side of the table just in case it was needed later in the match. (Who’s wrist was going to be on the referees side)

    Thanks :) Everyone's telling me straps are for toprollers who can't hold on. I therefore never quite understood why inside armwrestlers would want it. It always feels weird, more practise like you say...
