Arm Day - Cut Week 2 - MAXED OUT NATTY

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

A no BS arm day. Take some ideas from it or just use it as your own. It’ll work.
Workout:
Crossed Cable Tricep Ext - 2x5-8 (Very brief pause at bottom)
Over the Shoulder Ext - 2x5-8
Alt. Hammer Curls - 2 x 5-8
Single Arm Preacher Curls - 3 x 5-8
Row Station Reverse Curls - 2 x 5-8 (Hold top for 1 sec, slow negative)
If you’d like to focus more on your biceps, just switch them to first in the workout.

    Whoever facetiously commented on this video saying, "the wonder of steroids," your mentality needs some serious adjusting. Why hate a guy just because you don't have his level of progress? He put this FREE content out in the KZread land to help people like yourself achieve your fitness goals. If you have none, then maybe look in the mirror and consider your own low self-image and self-esteem before you decide to project your insecurities in this space. Gym memberships aren't expensive these days either, so maybe getting one would help. Thank you.

    I heard this in one of Dr Mike's videos: "Hammer curls are a humongous waste of time for most people. They hit the muscles of the forearm and the upper arm that are targeted by every other row, which you could do pretty well. So, having the palm face up and curling like that is probably superior around 90% of the time." - Mike Israetel (Renaissance Periodization)

    Great video! By the way that 2nd triceps exercise is called a tate press, if I'm not mistaken. I have it in my routine, but I am performing it with dumbbells. Great exercise - has a good ROM, hits the triceps hard and is safe on the elbows, unlike skullcruahers and JM press, which tend to cause elbow pain for some people.

    Your preacher machine doesn't seem to let you extend your arm all the way down, that's why I stopped doing mine and started doing dumbbell preacher curl. Even tho dummbells feel great tension at bottom, past mid movement they are pretty easy. Any tips on why you are okay with that machine of yours and comparison between dumbbell preacher and machine preacher curls? Much love bro.

    Since I got back into lifting consistently a couple years ago I have been doing large amounts of volume of about 12-15 working sets per muscle group on a 4 day cycle and then usually finishing off with some kind of body weight or lighter weight movement to failure, and doing this my strength has hugely improved. I understand what you’re saying about over training and adding unnecessary recovery and think there’s truth to that, I just have a hard time wanting to apply this change to reduce my volume as I feel my body is used to it and without the same amount of stimulus I won’t be making the same progress. I kind of judge a good workout by how exhausted the muscle is by the end of the workout and I’m assured it was good if I am struggling to do say a couple pull-ups or 10-15 push-ups afterward. Then again maybe different people can benefit more or less from different styles of training depending on genetics or body type.

  • @DavisDiley

    @DavisDiley

    3 ай бұрын

    It’s usually like this for most stuff. I may do slightly higher repetition, work on things like rear deltoids. The reason for that is sometimes heavier weight makes it more difficult for me to perform the movement properly (due to old shoulder injuries) Sometimes I’ll do high repetitions for fun and for a pump. But that’s rare.

    The whole workout systems it is really confusing sometimes. Here we have Davis recommending 4-8 reps /set, then we have Jeff Nippard or Renaissance Periodization recommending the 8-15 reps range and perfect technique based on science, and then we have the Metodo Bilbo which recommends training in the 15-30 reps. I do not know if I should combined the 4 workout methods or just follow 1 of them.

  • @debreakification

    @debreakification

    Optimal muscle growth can be achieved by training close to failure within a 5-30 rep range. Generally, as long as you fall within those lines, you'll make good gains. When optimizing your program you should consider what rep ranges are easier to progress for each exercise. This will change throughout your lifting career. For example: If you're seeing progress in weight and/or reps in bicep curls in the 5-10 rep range each session, you should continue to do them in that rep range for as long as they continue to progress significantly (given that you don't experience joint pain or any other deterrence as a result of doing them). If/when the movement becomes stale or plateaus, consider changing the exercise or changing the rep range to 10-20 for instance following the example. The rep ranges that progress optimally for you at a given time will likely vary between muscle groups and definitely vary on an individual basis. Go through phases of trial and error to see what rep ranges work best for different exercises in a given program.

I don't think you're maxed out but I do think you're probably natural. You might be scrapping the barrel for gains but I reckon they're in there. Not to say you're not absolutely jacked. It's amazing what you've built naturally! It's such a shame what the fitness industry has done to these young influencers and making them feel they have to use gear so they can be Shreddy Kruger year round. It's severely damaging expectations of their young impressionable audience too which is probably the worst part.
