Completely rewriting history...MMA fans were saying this was a bad mistake because there was every reason in the world to think so and they didn't want to see Francis's career go down the toilet because they love him. Anybody claiming they saw this coming is a liar, including Ariel unfortunately. Majority did not agree with Dana's bad faith behaviour towards Francis, you can't just pluck some random twitter troll's and declare them the voice of an entire fanbase. The only reason someone would believe that is if they want to believe that, and that is a sick and quite frankly mentally ill mindset

The real problem I have with this all is that Ariel’s emotions on display here are almost exclusively driven by his contempt for Dana White and the UFC in general and he’s fronting and camouflaging his emotion to be 100% born out of his pride and love for Francis. Obviously he’s super happy for Francis as we all should be but this idea that all this boisterous and over the top “I told you so” celebrating is because “it just means so much to Ariel” as if he’s close friends with Francis is just totally disingenuous. There isn’t a shadow of a doubt that 75% of this emotion that he’s managed to finesse into a hour of dunking on Dana and the UFC is a personal vendetta because of his tumultuous and contentious history and relationship with them, more specifically Dana. It’s just narcissistic and slimy.

Love it. I’ve been an Francis Ngannou fan since the beginning. Not for one minute did I ever think that he was being a “coward” because he was afraid of John Jones. People forget. Ngannou knows what it’s like to starve. He knows what it’s like to do hard labour for slave wages. He knows what it’s like to be homeless, cold, and in a place without any friends and family. Do people really think that he cares about what Dana White thinks? He’s just trying to get his money so he can do goodbye his friends and family back home. Combat sports is his work not his life. And the best thing for his life was to follow a better opportunity for money and autonomy. The fact that Dana white and so many people tried to shame him to stay in a shitty situation is disgusting. It’s like people who tried to tell a woman who is being abused by her husband that she hast to stay for the children, because “he only beats you sometimes, and the bruises are in obvious, and there are no broken bones”🤷🏻‍♀️. Good for Francis and good for Ariel for calling out the haters.

Sure, some of them publicly supported his decision to leave the UFC (more of an anti-UFC sentiment) but now they're acting like any of them actually believed & said that Francis would get the fight, nvm do well in it. Hell, there's an interview when Ariel is talking to Francis like he's a child when Francis was telling him about his plans after he had left UFC & became a free agent. But hey ever since Ariel & his entourage started calling him 10-7 Ariel, he loves 2nd hand glory. Acting as if any of them foresaw this & rewriting history, but i guess after the fact/event even the fool is wise. That said, congrats to Francis, he's that guy, who does the impossible & defies odds.

Ariel. This is a constructive criticism with hope you can takeaway something. With respect you did not do anything on Saturday night. Francis exceeded expectations and reached a level of greatness solidifying him amongst the worlds best. Ariel YOU did not. This receipts nonsense is very childish and unsportsmanlike. This is Francis moment to bask in not yours. What would you done had he lost the fight convincingly? Please don’t bring out the frustrations that you had to hear critics for the last 12 months. You are a journalist and having critics dissecting you in this sphere is the nature of the beast. You had Francis on your show today and being humble and a gentleman about it. Not to the extent to what you had taken bringing up old tweets. Stop holding grudges and feel like you are owed something. I cannot help feel that this a direct shot at UFC as they parted ways with Francis similarly how you did.? Please adopt a martial artist mentality and be more stoic in such instances. Celebrate wins and commiserate losses with level of integrity.

FACTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is exactly what I was trying to articulate below 👇🏼 but you did it way better.
