He’s more comfortable with the Saudi’s especially considering their stance on the current political situation.

You’re right man - the 300K buys he generated in his final fight was way bigger than the sport. His highest buys number of 500K certainly was bigger than the entire sport my man. The boxing fights losing tens of millions while being subsidized by Saudi cash where there’s no aim for profit is way above the sport. He’s bigger than the sport unless you are making that analysis by measuring the revenue he generates as a headliner aim to profit on the events you promote. Then he doesn’t seem to be bigger then the sport

@e13kid the lack of competition in the PFL would end up making the PPV a net loss if they do pay his opponent $1M. They recent ppv buys havent even budged since signing francis. Their best bet is better using the bellator signees

What exactly has he proven him wrong about? Dana has to make offers that allow the cards he promotes to profit and are in the best interest of the company. Francis is benefiting from Saudi money where there is no expectation of turning a profit so they can provide 8 figure guarantees and lose tens of millions of dollars on an event. Good on him for getting it but he’s confirming everything Dana has ever said about boxing and the way they pay huge amounts because they have no ongoing business to operate.

Only thing I don’t get is is Francis now just going to box? Doesn’t really seem like he has any plans of fighting in the PFL soon or mma which I don’t blame him with the money involved. But PFL might be lucky if Francis fights one time for them at this point. Not like Francis is young and has years left to do fight

Lol, I love how the volume of Ariel’s voice lowered when he brought up if Francis will fight for the pfl this year. Ariel knows there’s a chance PFL gets screwed this year.

@@joemirz You can't be serious. Your whole premise of there not being 300 events is based on them canceling their first ever event of UFC 151 over a decade ago? 😂 Wow, guy. Unbelievable. Yeah, they canceled Jones vs Hendo and Jones wouldn't fight Chael on short notice so the event was canceled and they moved most of those fights to other events, but just because that event didn't officially take place, doesn't mean it didn't exist and wasn't still an event. It was still a fight card that was put together, organized and booked, and promoted. It was an official event. It just fell apart about a week out. If a circus comes to town but a sudden pandemic happens and nobody can go to that circus. The circus was still in town. 151 still counted as an event, despite it not taking place in the end. Regardless, that's not even what Ariel is arguing. Haha.
