you should print your most popular sign on your paper bags so if someone does put it in a bag, then you would still get the business recognition. And thanks so much, this was awesome to see!
Who are the ROCKSTARS?!? Kim & Garrett!! Thank you for the things you teach us, each and every week! It really is amazing how you guys mass produce. And so glad you do! 💗

Love the setup! And I never knew there were REUSABLE ZIP TIES! Thanks for sharing your help and time!!!
I used to do craft shows years ago. I made jewelry. Loved the people but hated the weather at times. Rain was a huge challenge. I learned very early to put everything in storage totes to keep the rain out. Back then you could not find totes with wheels so my husband rigged some up for me. It was a lot of hard work to get everything packed, unpacked and packed up again each day. We did have a tent stolen one time at a show we were told we could leave it overnight that they had security. That was a lesson learned too. Looks like you have a good system and wish you much success.
Put your logo on your bags for the ones that want the bag. Awsome tips.
You guys are AMAZING! ❤
Where did you get the white panels? There not the ones linked in the description. Thanks!
Love you guys!! I was just looking for a video from you about just this! Love how you break everything down!

For batch painting, you need to get a 20-gal compressor from harbor freight and a 10-dollar paint gun and finish the painting in 20 minutes. Fast and get done quick!
Super helpful tips! 💜

Hi Kim and Garrett - That was a very enjoyable video. I was just telling my hubby about your journey from IT to having your own business. It's been a great ride and I look forward to many more years of fun. Thanks for sharing. Sorry about the hurricane cancellation. We dodged a bullet just outside of Tampa, but didn't have electricity for 36 hrs (of hell) I love electricity. See you this weekend. Love PegEgg

where do you get the bags from?
Would it be easier if we painted all the wood before cutting on the laser?
Where did you get the display stands?
what kind of glue do u use?
I spray paint all my boards first.. then cut.. much faster. Then only have to touch up if needed. Great video though.
Where did you get the wire panels?
Thanks for the tips. I hope to meet you all in person soon. J’s Creative Craft Shop

Are y’all using a POS system or just going out with a cash box or what exactly? Also, when it comes to “keeping books”, how are y’all categorizing? i.e. materials, tools, pay, etc…. Hope I’m making sense! Thanks!
Question, do you cut your signs reverse image and tape down? I've tried that works for me.
@KimandGarrettmakeit
Жыл бұрын
No we won't! We don't like the charring!
what size do you mainly offer for your signs. I have 3 sizes and I find it hard to keep up with, then offering just one size. I personally like the 14 or 16inch
@KimandGarrettmakeit
Жыл бұрын
We just offer 18" rounds right now but we're looking to go to 16"
Wow! Lots of great information! I have a couple questions… 1. How many of each sign do you bring? 2. How many different products do you bring? We used to do craft shows many years ago but we are rebranding our business since we have added a laser so that opens us up to a LOT more options than before. TIP: Do NOT use the weights that you can get for the tents - they do now work! We used to carry buckets of sand for ours. Also Garrett, I would love to learn how to design layered signs. Is this something you have any plans on teaching?
@KimandGarrettmakeit

usually 4-6 we bring however many we can manage! We shoot for painting 8 signs A day per painter

Hey Karen! We do have an Illustrator class planned. We actually started filming it, but the audio was bad. The class will take you from setting up your workspace to making layered signs and a standy. Thanks! ~garrett

@@KimandGarrettmakeit looking forward to it! Is it going to be at the beginner level? We almost have our laser set up so I’ll be joining as a Patreon as well!
Sad too see so many KZreadrs participating in (some even encouraging) intellectual property infringement/theft. Especially when attorneys who do that sort of thing charge so much in the fine/penalty is so high. It seems wrong to make money for next to nothing when so much money was spent making the characters so popular. How would you feel having spent much money and much time developing a character or an image to be popular and then someone took it and plastered it on anything they wanted to? Hope you have realized that owning the IP is part of what they spent so much money for.
Nice Ideas. Informative video, I liked it. Few questions: 1) What are you using as the fence/wall to hang everything on? 2) Some of your designs are Disney characters (I think Disney). 🤔 Isn't that trademark/copyright infringement or whatever the legal word is...I wanted to try and sell stuff like that too, but in doing my homework, I found that the "potential" fine and possible lawsuit wasn't worth it. I paraphrase here "Items made with the name, design or character likeness of a licensed product can NOT be reproduced and sold "for profit" without the ""EXPLICIT"" written consent of the company, manufacturer and/or owner of said product. So, How do yall get around that? I wanted to make Astros signs. In my area, they would sell very well. In talking with various craft show vets and calling to talk with coordinators of upcoming events, they said I was not allowed to sell those things without show a signed CONSENT form from the Astros corporation and that had to be submitted to the Event staff a minimum of 30 days prior to the event.
Where can I find reusable zip ties?
I see you sell licences products Nightmare before Christmas etc. Did you purchase a license for these or are you taking the risk of selling with out a license? Is this something you worry about particularly with online sales?
About how much do you make at shows?
Clear bags with handles would help with advertising!

@@KimandGarrettmakeit my sister lives in Virginia! I live on the west coast and visit her so looks like I'm going to have to look you guys up! Thank you for the great setup tips. I use grids occasionally myself, however, most of the time the event is inside and you can't walk on the outside so signs, etc. can only be hung on the inside. Great setup though.
