Oh my right foot is in the 1st degree flat foot while my left foot is in between the 'normal' foot and the 1st degree flat foot, no wonder that's the source of pain for my recent diagnosis, tendonitis calcaneus talus! And my physiotherapists think I'm heading to plantar fasciitis and my orthotic shoe salesperson thinks I'm having sone degree of flat foot especially my right foot

My son has seriously flat feet. The podiatrist said it's one of the few, truly flat feet he's ever seen. He gets pain in his hips. Back and legs. Is there any way to help that? He did get custom shoes.

Make sure he has decent orthotics and gets good support via a decent podiatry and orthopedic clinic. The whole formation of your foot, it's bones, ligaments and muscles are different (not just the arch) with flat feet and there are many issues that can arise as a result if you don't get good healthcare to manage it.

I wear earth runners everyday . I have flat feet and also get hip pain , but it’s improved. People try to push support and orthotics but in my experience all of that makes it so much worse .. so I stick with my @earthrunners

Great, now let’s talk about how you loose the arch in your feet. Wearing conventional shoes that are not shaped like your feet and have a flawed designed that doesn’t let your feet (the muscles and joints) do what they’re supposed to do. Ideally, we need to wear shoes that are widest at the front (wide toebox) with enough space for the toes, with no toe spring (toes not pointing upwards), a thin flexible sole and a flat heel so your foot can function and move like it’s supposed to. Look up *barefoot shoes*

I’m familiar with this footprint method from when I went to massage school decades ago. However; this wet footprint method wasn’t 💯 accurate for me when I tried it last year. My arches still looked good in my wet footprint 👣 I’ve always had a very high arch, which continued to show using this method. But my feet were becoming increasingly painful even though I was barely on them and with no real obvious deformity. It wasn’t like I was on my feet all day in tight shoes. I’d go for pedicures just for pain relief from the foot massage. So I saw a Podiatrist over a year ago and needed custom orthotics $$$ made for fallen arches. He uses a manual method to determine the flattening of the arch, which I could see. The OTC gel and foam insoles no longer helped. I got immediate relief from my new orthotics and it continues. The problem is I was either barefoot or in slippers of flip flops most of the time. There has been an increase in feet problems since more people are working from home now since the pandemic and are not wearing proper shoes to support there feet and arches.
