We received financial assistance from Texas Utility to help with our electric bill. Still seeking help with rent which just increased. We live in Senior Citizens Apartments, and the rent continues to increase each year. This isn’t fair on Seniors.

There should be a SNAP EBT like program for OTC meds and supplements and YMCA memberships. I'm on SNAP and Medicaid since I can't work due to chronic medical issues. I'm in the process of applying for Disability but am stuck in appeals limbo. I need several supplements and OTC meds to help with my chronic symptoms to get healthy enough to a point where I may be able to work at least a little bit again. I have no access to them though. I can't get cash assistance in my state because they're stop gaps for people actively looking for work or people with kids. I currently live with my parents but they are on a budget too and can't keep getting the meds that I need... I signed up for the Up Together but it's not showing anything in my area yet either.

You get otc card benefits ONLY if your on medicare.

Most health insurance are offering Otc which is over the counter med they allot various amount depends on your insurance Co hope this helps

@@tawanas602 NO, the amount on the OTC benefit card depends on the STATE you live in, and NOT ALL STATES let insurance companies offer the OTC benefit card, and they are not offered on medicaid alone, you must have medicare also or medicare alone to get an OTC benefit card. They may offer otc benefit cards in the future to ppl who have medicaid only but it's not that way now.

I doubt that will happen though since supplements often are not FDA approved to treat or prevent any illness. I'm in the same boat. I take fish oil, probiotics, various amino acids, astaxanthin, and more and I'm having to take on a second job just so I can pay for it. Mind you, I have tendinitis in my right shoulder so the type of work I can do is limited. I feel stuck.

I'm looking for grants for my son to complete and subsides to his education at a university to get his bachelor's degree, school grants have a limit and only goes so far. I'll share this video to him to see if there is something useful for him or if you can post in a another video I wouldn't like to see him to start a new career not being in debt.
