The one with Mrs. Bucket you mean?
What's on tv now is crap this is British comedy at it's best I luv it
Lallies and Willets...gay slang in the 70s for "legs and breasts". Which is why the audience laughed...the reason they laughed harder was because Capt. Peacock said they were a Bristol firm.. And in Cockney rhyming slang, "Bristol City=titties=breasts". So of course, when Mrs. Slocum says... "Never mind where they hang out"...it's a CLASSIC double entendre which the audience would have gotten, ergo the uproarious laughter. Hang out as in their neighbourhood, and hang out as in breasts literally being shown. Layers upon layers of GREAT WRITING.

Bristols LOL slang for Breasts. Peacock: Lallies and Willets, that's a Bristol firm isn't it? Slocombe: Never mind where they hang out, what's in it for us. (Absolute brilliance) It was post WW2 and no holds barred, the world needed some humour, and the Brits made sure we got some, and then they refined it into an Art. There are just too many groups, individuals, teams, TV shows and Movies to name here. Whether its from England, Wales, Scotland, or Ireland, the play on words in all early UK comedies is mind boggling.

@@A2D4I watched this show and only knew about Mr. Harmon. I found out later that Mash appeared up until season 4.But like yourself I loved Mr. Harmon because he meshed well with all the workers, even scheming with them. He can also balance a plank on his head and turn without it falling off!

@@kvsb3839 Because of that hilariously unnatural hair piece.
Young Mr. Grace cracks me up...when Jug ears said he had something top secret to say Mr. Grace said he would leave the room. Its little unexpected lines like that that are so funny ....their timing and dead pan delivery of those jokes are perfecto!
I lovedm all but I had a soft spot for Mr. Granger

I think a lot of us did. I had a relative who looked so much like him and often had that same expression his face. Anytime I'm watching a show and my mom happens to be nearby, she will always refer to Mr. Grainger by that relative's name.
