I am watching at the beginning of 2023 and could not agree more. It makes me think of when I was a little kid and I used to watch these shows. My mother couldn't understand their accents so she couldn't get into the show. I loved this show. Loved everything about it. It almost maybe want to work in a department store just like this.

Wow, they crammed so much funny business into half an hour here, it's amazing. Not only do we get the super ballet sequence, but then there's the naked guys scene, and finally the eavesdropping and misunderstandings. Just terrific writing and performances. ❤️😆

Great way to remember a great show. I used to stay up with my brothers and mom week nights and watch this on PBS with a huge bowl of popcorn. I always feel like I'm 15 again when I see this show.

I never get tired of watching these. I started watching them with my grandparents. Now that they are gone, watching them takes me back to simpler times. 😊😢

I grew up watching "Are you being served, The Young Ones, Absolutely Fabulous, The Good Life, Keeping Up Appearances," & a lot of other BBC shows! So honored I did! I just love English dry humor!

The "medical report" was so funny -- I wish it had included Capt. Peacock and Mr. Lucas, as well.

That little shuffle the men did with the screen to exit the room had me horse laughing for ten minutes. Priceless!!!

I lost my first best friend 😭 at age 8, Armando, he was 7 and died of a 🧠 Brain tumor, and it bulged from his head 😭 he told me he loved me and died in my arms 😭

I'm actually quite impressed by Mrs. Slocombe being able to do pointe...that's not easy for anyone!!

From what I was told, (I'm not sure if Mrs. Slocombe's actress was a ballet dancer before she went into acting) if your not a dancer, and you do the pointe, you need to make sure that your don't injure your feet, doing it if your not familiar with it.

The way it was cut, I think it may have actually been a double in a fat suit. You don't get a good look at her face, and the movement isn't quite right for her.

I wish Mr. Lucas (Trevor Bannister) could have stayed with the show. I luv how he always gives Mrs. Solcombe a hard time, cause you know it's all in good fun

The show had already reached its peak at that point. Trevor had stated that they were recycling many of the same jokes and gags at that point and it was time to move on. He was kind of aging out of the role of "Young Mr. Lucas, the Junior" at that point.

I read that originally the show was supposed to primarily be a vehicle for Trevor Bannister, with his role to be the primary character. But despite Trevor's obvious talent, he was outshined by Mollie Sugden and John Inman, who quickly became the favorites.

Yes, I wish Lucas would of stayed around as well. His replacement, Mr Spooner, was even snarkier and not even likable. I truly hated his character. The others who were a replacement for Mr Granger, all had their strong points, but Spooner... No, just no.

The slowly appearing smile of confidence on Mr Lucas his face while standing there naked is priceless.

Mrs. Slocombe: I read somewhere you are what you eat. Mr Lucas: Just how long have you been eating sour grapes and ugly fruit? Mrs. Slocombe: About as long as you've been eating Sheep's brains and Pig's heads. The banter those two had was classic. I love the original crew best.

My mom and I used to sit up late on Saturday Nights to watch all the British Comedies they had. This one, Keeping Up Appearances, As Times Goes By, and Waiting for God. I was ten or eleven at the time we started that. Man, those were some good times. Me and Mom still watch the British Comedies sometimes but not as often as we used to. These shows had a dry sense of humor that is unmatched in today's world. It had lots of funny stuff with a bit of sexual humor, if you know what they are talking about. The best thing is that you have to think about it. Anyway, these shows are absolutely hilarious and complete knee slappers.

Mrs S: It's not often we get you at a disadvantage Captain Peacock Captain P: I'm not at a disadvantage!!! Mr L: She hasn't looked behind the screen yet. LMAO

Every episode is brilliant, but this one is a bloody masterpiece! The tears were bucketing down my legs!!

One of my favorite episodes. The ballet class is great, really showcases their physical comedy talents. And the report at the end as they eavesdrop is just brilliant writing.

Has to be hands down one of the funniest episodes ever. I cried laughing so hard.

Oh my goodness!!! I could not stop laughing when Mr. Lucas got Mr. Humphries between the legs at the ballet bar!!! Hilarious!! 🤣🤣🤣👍🏾

I first saw this series in 1992, and I thought I was gonna die! I am not one to laugh out loud at sitcoms, but this one tore me UP! It was one of four Friday Night BritComs. Others were "Waiting for God", "May to December", and another whose title I don't recall. This one was my favorite, though. Absolutely loved Mr. Humphries.

2019...I’ watch this show and Grace & Favor every single night. My mom & I know every line. We still can’t believe they’re ALL passed away. 😔 This show is timeless and doesn’t get nearly the recognition it deserves,especially from the BBC. BBC has always treated this program like the redheaded stepchild. I used to watch this & Keeping Up Appearances on PBS when I was 6. I didn’t know what it was to have a crush, but I swore I was in love with John Inman. 😅 I remember exactly when I thought I was in love; the episode when he was going to be the best man for his friend &he wore a day suit from stock. 😏

I was all giggles until 27:27 then I lost it so hard 😂😂😂😂😂😂 i grew watching this show and i didn't realize just how funny it was until I was older. I love A.Y.B.S.

This is definitely one of the funniest episodes out of all of them! I watch it over and over and it has me in stitches every time!

Let's not forget the one with the Fire Practice. When the Arabian wanted all 40 of his wives to have a pair of trousers.

Used to watch this show as a kid in the 90s. Thought it was funny, but now as adult and understanding the context it’s like watching a whole new show. Clearly mr Humfreys is gay but I didn’t know anything about that growing up. Really good show for those times.

I’m impressed that the dance instructor dances so well in high heels!

This show was a huge hit back in the 1970's among alot of older people . My good friend who once lived in England used to watch this show everyday . It used to come on regular tv twice a day .

@doctorwho0077 i didnt like his character eithr. i read a story that said after awhile he got big headed and acted like he owned the show. Larry Berghoff or radar didnt get along with him.. I guess because Radar was much loved on the show.. But it was a big hit of a show because of its war theme... was ok at first with the old cast. later on it became stale

It came on, on Sunday mornings, me mom and dad would watch the British comedies while eating breakfast always fried eggs biscuits, and bacon. Mom let us eat in the living room so we could watch are you being served. There was others but this show holds the most memories.

British sitcoms are the best I am from Algeria and I do like very much British sense of humour. RIP all of you of " are you being served" sitcom

I grew up watching this show on PBS when I was a kid, with my Mom and Dad. It was "Are You Being Served," and "Good Neighbors." I'm so glad to have found all these episodes!! As an adult now, it still makes me laugh (although for different reasons, nowadays) just as much, if not more- than I did as a kiddo. Thank you so much for sharing these!

This was , is and will always be the best British comedy along with Halo Halo ! These actors were extremely talented and always right on Q ! Thank you for sharing the Are You Being Served sitcoms ! @Broken Angel83 . Homeopathy is a medical superstition. Homeopaths believe that if you dilute something with water, it retains the original quality. For example a droplet of wine in a swimming pool of water should still taste like wine and make you drunk. They believe that their water has healing qualities because it has a droplet of some medicine in it. They sell it for the actual price of medicine. It is a money scam.

The dancer is Amanda Barrie. She appeared in two of the Carry On films, and this episode Are You Being Served? before being cast as Alma Sedgewick in Coronation Street, which she played on and off for 20 years.
