    I"ve heard three other cases where the front diff had a failure. One from a guy pulling out a boat. Another from a dealer driving one up a ramp for show, and another in snow/mud conditions. Add TFL's and thats 4 complete front diff failures. To me, the front end can't handle the added torque of this new motor. With the new higher prices, and sub par service that many dealers provide i'd stay far far ways from this mexican made crap. If ya have to buy this brand get a real one made in Japan like a Prado, 4 runner, or GX 460 and be done with it.

  • @aerynlovell4754

    @aerynlovell4754

    2 ай бұрын

    @jsl6155 And yet here you are "wasting words". The problem isn't that a Toyota Tacoma broke. The problem is the ridiculous price compared to all the other mid-sized trucks. But people say that a Toyota badge is worth the extra money because they are the best. Now we have a Tacoma break because the tires were spinning at low speed. No 4x4 should break under those conditions. Then Toyota doesn't just send 1-3 people to investigate the problem, but they send 20 people. Maybe the reason why a Toyota is so expensive is because it takes 20 engineers to investigate one broken part. Then, there is the stupid decision by Toyota to put a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine in a truck. Toyota has been building and racing vehicles long enough to know the strengths and weaknesses of different engines. In a lightweight car, a turbocharged 4-cylinder gives plenty of power and great fuel economy. However, in a truck that weighs over 4000 pounds, the 4-cylinder engine needs forced induction to move that much weight. Then, when you tow a trailer up steep hills on a hot summer day, the underpowered engine is pushed to its limit. When a turbocharged engine gets hot, extra fuel is sprayed into the combustion chamber to prevent knock, which destroys fuel economy. On top of that, the incoming air passes the hot turbo and absorbes some of the turbo's heat, so hot air is being forced into the engine. Engines lose power when the intake air gets too hot. Everything about this design is full of potential problems, and it isn't just Toyota but every car manufacturer that put a turbocharged 4-cylinder in a truck.
