ARE TUBELESS TIRES THE FUTURE OF BMX?
Ойын-сауық
Today I try out tubeless for the first time on my bmx. These alienation bmx tires are a prototype at the moment and should be out in the coming months. They can be used with tubes or tubeless. Let me know what bike part you want to see tested here next!

Yes I need to see you run that 11 year old tire. I’m so curious on how it will hold up.
Tubeless is great. As there's not two layers of rubber interacting with each other the sidewall is suppler giving a better performing tyre. To fix a big hole there's a small dynaplug tool you stab into the tyre that leaves a plug with a brass end on it embedded. Use a ton of Soapy water if you're having trouble seating/and or remove valve core to allow more airflow for that initial seat. I do hundreds hope it helps
Also fill your tire with sealant through the presta/shrader. Pulling the core out 10× easier. And no mess!!

Nice! Stoked to see you doing this. Looking forward to seeing how it works.
Happy Birthday Buddy! 🎂🎈🎁🎉
Nice to see you back !!! Happy b day Lil guy!!!!
Hey mike I hope you and your family are all doing great. Love the channel and what you do.
Happy birthday!!! 🎈🎉🎊
Great stuff as always Mike! Would be interesting to get your thoughts on different size bars. If you swapped bars that were a little lower than your current bars and then ones that were a little higher than your current ones. Pros and cons of both and how they affected your ability on different tricks
Mike you are the man keep posting !!
I missed seeing new videos show up, really enjoy the channel and you as a person

Excellent review and explanation not to mention the real world session
Fitment on point 💅🏼
Mike its less rolling resistance brother is why they feel so smooth and sound different. It reminds me of when I rode the Flybikes Ruben's that were the 1st of there kind using those materials.
I run the Maxxis Hookworms front and rear 2.5 tires on my bike. With the back end slammed, there’s just enough clearance. There definitely a little heavy, but there SO SMOOTH!!! I’m not too worried about weight anyways, I prefer a little bit heavier bike for the stability in the air...
Happy birthday lil dude
Missed the red shoes brother. Thanks for another awesome video.
Should have been called the graf-fede tyre!!
I just put some fresh Conti's and set them up tubeless on my Rockhoppper, cant wait to go try them out tomorrow on a nice mtb ride.

@@MikeFede I live in the Phoenix area, everything here is sharp rocks, loose gravel and sand. I got the Trailkings and those things have a ton of grip. Tubeless ability to use lower tire pressure also helps. I'm loving the Trail Kings, tubeless set up!
You should ride with Scotty while I’m he’s I’m jersey!

I’m definitely down to.🤙🏽
I went tubeless on my MTB & run it with Minesweepers inserts & it’s nice to not worry about pinch flats & dented rims.
The tubeless setup would be ideal for competitive park riders. Works best on perfect surfaces.
Damn that back cassette is loud haha. Dig it!
Man that rear hub sounds soo nice!
Well im definitely sticking to tubes!!!
about time other wheels caught up to our DCTX TCS rims we released in 2018
HBD kiddo Interesting test video Mike.
Happy bday lil bro
glad to see you mention the premium bikes 2.4 i was running them back in 2012 when everyone else was riding 2.2 and absolutely fell in love with the wider tires. do you happen to know what model that tire is? would love to get another pair if they are still in production. Edit> and i do believe premium was the first to do the 2.4 folding
We love the whip master

That's one loud free wheel
I really miss riding Maxxis Maxx Daddy. those felt like riding a motor bike.
I would run that premium tire in a heartbeat I swore by that tire the moment i got a pair I wish I could get my hands on a set they were so underrated and ahead of they’re time bmx wasn’t ready for them yet we were just really getting used to the khe tires
Sticking with the tubes for now.😉
I still got a specialized big hit fsr. I still run a prime racing 24x2.5 rear and a 26 up front.
I actually have a set of the premium refuse resist tires in 20 x 2.0 and the inflated to about 2.2 but the actual tread peeled off the casing and I can’t ride them anymore. Been riding odyssey Chase hawk slick tires and they are not good on dirt jumps 😂
HAPPY BIRTHDAY 🎁
Ive got tubeless on my race bmx it made the feel of the bike so much better

Gorilla tape isn't even duct tape. A beast of a different type. Great stuff.
You should make a video about first things to upgrade on your first bike.
Hey I know that manual to nose manual was cool and all... but did you see that backhand though?!?!
Happy bday to you
my only concern on the tubless is the burping, around tight corners and such... Try some hard/fast corners on it maybe?
damn, that's some great riding! so is it worth the hassle comapred to tubolitos? and is is actually lighter?
Happy birthday to you
What cassette is that?? It sounds beautiful🔥🔥
I run the 187s tubless they are great
Tuneless is cool, you showcased to good, and the bad, wait till one explodes everywhere and you'll be back on the tubolito gang. Fun to try out though! Great video! Tweak the tubeless gunk you use for more reliability. So o hear from my jump bike friend. Who also gave up in the end and runs tubes usually. Lol,
Happy birthday kid
I have wondered about this.
I had them on my mountain bike and they were really light but after fetting a flat on a trail and not being able to fix it I went back to tubes
you should do a day of hard riding on the regular rims and then a day of hard on the tubeless and see the differnce in spoke tightness and sraightness of the rims and the cost differance between the 2
Yo dude you should buy and test the Animal x T1 tyres 2.4 /2.2
That family ❤️😂
Hey since 20 x 4" tyres are available now, but how long before BMX frames will catch up with enough clearance to run them?
happy birthday to you
What it doo mike 💪
Nice😉
I never change my tires because I don't ride enough to wear them down. Getting a little worn down now though
6:38 THE BEST TIRE EVER MADE
Good ol Phillips
Test out some OG Fit FAF tires
I wanna try tcs 2.3 front for foot jams 1.9 rear. I feel a tighter smaller back tyre will stay on an not get flats
interesting concept i always wondered why bike tires weren't tubeless when cars tires have been for years
@iiRodeoclownii

mountain bikes have also been tubeless for many years, not sure why it hasnt caught on in bmx.
I saw u at penn skate
Where I can get those Maxxis Ricer?
You should check out zipforce its a motor to make any bike Electric 👍
What shoes was he wearing they are soooo clean
Anyone know what park this is? Looks like fun
I’d be interested to know the weight of all that sealer vs the weight of a typical tube? Thanx for your time bossman

depends because you can run less sealant if you are worried about it, but i haven't gotten a flat in 2 years riding over many thorns and that peace of mind is worth it to me.
Like 6 or 7 years ago I had a bike made by eastern called the Nitrous Warhammer that came with 20x3 tires on it

Hey!! I haven’t rode them yet but I’ll be sure to grab a set and do a video on them and give them away. 🤙🏽🤙🏽
BMX Tubeless cannot come soon enough. Why its taken BMX companies so long to catch up to the rest of the industry on tubeless tech is really a mystery to me.
What’s the no rotational weight Feel like ?
Park don't have a pump setup???
Do you need special alienation rims for the tubeless version of these tires to work or does any rim work? Also how did your tire get flat? One last thing, do you need to ride high psi for tubeless to work because i always thought that tubeless would be better for low psi as there wouldn’t be pinch flats and also most tubeless mountain bikes ride low psi. Sorry for all the questions but if i were to get these tires, i wouldn’t want to have to get new rims and change the air pressure in my tires to a pressure i don’t like, not to mention them getting flat all the time (which I hope is not the case but i am suspicious of that due to your tire getting flat after one session).
@MikeFede
4 жыл бұрын
Hey!! Thanks for the questions. With this tire you just need a rim that is tubeless compatible for the proper seal. You can do a rig job and make any tire tubeless but it’s really sketchy. This can be run in low or high psi. This specific tire goes to 85 psi and I ran about 80. I got the flat due to not getting the actual rim seal tape that’s like plastic and would have stopped my spoke from poking through when I hit it. That’s how the flat came about. I will be revisiting this video again soon and doing weight comparisons of different tubes with the pros and cons of all. Some people like just a regular tube and go and some like to get into the real specs of things. I appreciate your questions 🤙🏽
I don't know why but I can't stand presta valves, Schrader all the way for me!

im from juares is hard to get a good bmx over here
What tire is that mike? Looks like cafe racer tires
the stans no tubes sealent isnt super great if you want a really good sealent i would suggest muckoff or orange enduro there are bigger particles and that will cause them to seal bigger holes
you need to try the free night coaster
