I bought my daughter the Ulta advent calendar for $18 - it was a star made out of 12 little boxes with little smaller sizes of Ulta brand make up. It had highlighter, eyepencils, sparkly eyeshadow. A really great purchase. Shame on Sephora!!!!

definetly. from what i read from a few comments the small aplicators are given out for free in stores and so are the mini testers.. idk i'm not into makeup myself so idk from personal experience but honestly i saw a big 24 day beauty advent calender at my local dollar store for 15€ and they listed what is inside on the back and they didn't even put sponge aplicators or disposable mascara wands in there..

The fact that this wouldn’t look even slightly out of place in the dollar store, and that Sephora was selling it for about thirty dollars is a perfect illustration of the company as a whole.

Probably more like they were trying to scam $30 out of people. If you put $5 worth of items in a box, say it's worth $85, and sell it for $35, that's an easy 30 you're making with every sale. I'm sure this product was NEVER actually available for the full supposed $85 value, but I personally know a few people who get suckered in by the prospect of a "great deal." In fact, just this afternoon a coworker was admiring a dress online on the basis that it was "A $160 dress on sale for $80." My point is, even if the box was never really $85, claiming it was likely tricks people into accepting the $35 price point as an acceptable value.

They weren’t even saying is was a $29 value, they were claiming it is an EIGHTY FIVE DOLLAR VALUE.

That's got to be the worst Advent calendar I've ever seen. I would return it. I'm surprised it got a 2 star rating.

I would agree but the back states what is in the calendar. I get she didn’t want to have the surprise ruined but it’s there which is nice. It is a shame she wasted her money. It was a pathetic collection.

Holy reindeer crap! This is SO awful! There a lot of reasons I've gravitated more to Ulta than Sephora over the last couple years. This isn't helping their case. The handcrafted wax melts and cosmetics advent calendars I made this year were $50. The value is $80..and that's for 24 cavities, plus an extra surprise for the 25th. This is ridiculous. Can't wait to see your dollar store recreation. LOL

Hahahahha I’m rewatching all the Sephora advent calendars and when she opened up door 3 I laughed so hard I cried 😂 it’s so tiny

This was the very 1st video I ever saw of hers. I am now hooked on her sass and humor. I have seen almost every one of her videos now and can't wait for when she does more.

The ONLY thing that would've made this box worth $36 would be the last gift being a $25 Sephora gift certificate. It's worth $11 and that's pushing it IMHO.

i never ever actually say this and it may sound dramatic, but I honestly think they should recall this or acknowledge at least how the $85, or even the $36 value is a complete lie. Most of those items come for FREE with other items. All they had to do was put like perfume, skin, haircare samples in there - I get more out out of my $10 ipsy bag than that. I genuinely don't know how they thought that was an acceptable item to sell for ANY price.

That glue tho?! Those are the little glues that come FREE when u buy a pair of $5 eyelashes. Lol! Sephora better be sending u some free products to make up for this embarrassment...

Sephora thought it was a good idea to walk around their store and give out the little eye shadow applicators and mascara applicators that their customers use when swatching makeup and trying out different makeup at their stores. 😂 Those are the applicators they use in their testers. 😂 Probably had a huge back stock and just wanted to get rid of a couple thousand or so.
