In some ways, yes, however I see these are compared to Vans a lot, but Vans don't really last very long. I've been skating my Es Accel OGs for literally over 6 months and they look like they will last a year or more. I'll rip the laces, but so far damage overall is super minimal. A similar thing goes for Etnies Joslin 1s. Damage is very minimal so far, whereas some of my Vans Pros got ripped apart in literally two weeks. I also think a $100 shoe _should_ last three months or so, if remotely possible. Or it'll become a fairly poor value overall quickly. Cariuma might not like to hear this, but the only truly environmentally friendly shoe is one that lasts for years, not weeks or a couple of months. How biodegradable do you think all the rubber in these shoes is? Or what about when they are destroyed in a large furnace like with most shoes and clothes? There's a reason why a lot of countries collect old shoes and ship them to countries that have no shoes. The biggest waste comes from disposing of them.

These shoes look ok but the thing about natural rubber is that it might not last as long as vulcanized rubber. Vulcanized rubber is basically cooked rubber that is processed in a way which makes it longer lasting. It doesn’t have an impact on the environment to vulcanize it so I would be on the lookout for a Vulc version

I would have considered these had they not been super thin in terms of overall protection. And nope, I don't really care too much about 'vegan' or otherwise sustainable shoes when this mostly just means paying more for a similar product. In fact, I'm pretty sure cork insoles are not as environmentally friendly as some seem to assume. To put it differently, there's a reason why there's a high interest in figuring out the cork oak genome and perhaps genetically modify it, although that's off topic enough already.

Those shoes are hard

After hearing all of the environmentally friendly-ness of these shoes I don't have much hope for the company being profitable enough to last. A shame because I think they look great. I've not skated them but I have only heard good reviews.

I skate the jordan 1 la to chicago's... They are stiff as fuck at first, they just hurt my pinky toes, but now it's better
