it's good practice to wax your trucks when they are new and as needed. take them apart at the kingpin and wax all contact points - between bushings/yoke/washers, pivot, and shave wax into pivot cup. plain paraffin 'gulf wax' is best, will help to keep it from sticking/squeaking.

Sick vid! The waxing is also good for those parts of your board that can put your board at risk if they get wet. The outsides are treated but deeper into the wood they will not handle moisture so well and the wax gives you a bit of guard.

Wax on wheel wells yeah, but wax on your tail does absolutely nothing.

same thought. I know people that wax their tail and nose. Never seen them ollie higher than they would without the wax and never seen them use the board for significantly longer than I do and I never wax nose and tail edges

i find shoe goo works better if you give it plenty of time to cure/dry before trying to skate. at least 24hrs, but 48hrs is better. i have a couple videos on how to repair board chips like you got.

@@cameronmackinnonYT if i'm using it to repair soles that have worn through i use parchment paper to smooth it out bc it won't stick. you can put the goo on as needed and step down on parchment paper to smooth and spread it out to make sure it's even. otherwise it can feel weird, like you're stepping on something or have something undesirable stuck to your shoe

Making things too complicated, just flip your wheels around. Waxing the tail also might be the dumbest thing crap I've heard. Trying too hard just skate

If you have a car you would already know that rotating your wheels is the same on a skateboard. Except you wouldn't blow your wheels since its made out of urethane. And you don’t flip the wheels, you change it in a criss-crossed pattern so it can wear out evenly. You could cone it more if you flipped your wheels depending on what you do overtime.

  • @diplenski

@@thesharinganknight9859 you def flip skateboard wheels to even out coning. if you just move it and don't flip it, it does nothing for the coning and only helps at all if you have one or two wheels wearing substantially faster
