The summer vibe in the West Indies, England, Australia, NZ, India etc is very much tied to watching cricket.
10cc are a great English rock band from the 70's. This group was super talented as every member was a multi-instrumentalist, singer, writer & producer. "I'm Not In Love" was their biggest hit in 1975 but they had other songs such as "The Things We Do For Love", "Rubber Bullets", "The Dean & I", "The Wall Street Shuffle", "Silly Love", "Life Is A Minestrone", "Art For Art's Sake", "I'm Mandy, Fly Me" etc.
I saw this group several times back in the day. I didn't like them - I loved them! In their concerts, they did a long medley of reggae songs, as well as their other numerous hits. Don't forget they were one of the very top bands in the UK in the 1970'S. Please check out The Dean and I , Rubber Bullets or many, many more - all fantastic!

Touche with not liking them but love them.
The story behind this song really happened. To the Moody Blues! They told Ten CC the tale & this song is the result. One of my all-time favs. Enjoying your journey.

One of my friends was from Jamaica in the 70s , she said it was paradise in the 60s but then in the 70s the drugs got in and it became very violent , she said she would never go back
No, they are English. That's why they love cricket, reggae and the Caribbean.

Yes, cricket is definitely a very huge cultural sport in England, but they don't mention loving cricket because they're English, they mention loving cricket because it is also big in Jamaica as well, and they are mentioning things they love about Jamaica, trying in ingratiate themselves towards the Jamaicans mugging them.

I'm sure they do, but in the context of this particular song the character is saying those things to ingratiate himself with the locals in an attempt to not offend them or risk getting himself beaten up.

True, but you can say the same sort of thing about people from Britain and the commonwealth. We all share a history good and bad. Sport, food, music, is part of the culture.

When this came out the WSC (World Series Cricket) was on, West Indies had the most lethal team, a bowler, Michael Holding was called whispering death, batsmen facing him actually shook with fear

West Indies dominated International cricket through the 70s & 80s (did not lose a Test series for 15 years)...and remained strong up to the mid 90s really...and produced some of the greatest players to ever have played the game. Gary Sobers, Viv Richards, Clive Lloyd, Michael Holding, Joel Garner, Courtney Walsh, Curtly Ambrose, Brian Lara, Malcom Marshall too name just a small few.
Great reaction, Shawn and Mel. We grew up with all of these bands. We all played instruments. 10CC 🤠
10cc were big from 1972. They covered the spectrum, and did a lot of thoughtful music. I have all their albums, and none of them are tired to me.

Deceptive Bends has been on my playlist since 1976. Superb
Great musicianship and comedy in their lyrics. What's not to like?
These guys are from my home city of good old Manchester England what a monster of a tune .
In the 70's I loved this group. Great songs
If you grew up working class in the 70s and 80s in England you loved reggae , colour never entered our heads we were all one , the separation of people today is truly sad , I don't like music , I love it !
They're from Manchester in England, but recorded this album in Jamaica - their very catchy song "From Rochdale to Ocho Rios" on the same album talks about their constant travelling between the UK and Jamaica. The band was originally a four-piece but split, with Kevin Godley and Lol Creme leaving to do their own experimental music and Eric Stewart and Graham Gouldman re-forming in the band. This song is from after the split, "I'm not in love" was from before - hence the completely different sound. Both sounds are fun IMO.

10cc great British band highly skilled musicians with a multitude of sounds , I would recommend Mandy Fligh Me a song about aviation , again with this track they tell a musical story with great sounds , synths and harmonies

@@jonricklin3893 I think it's best when it's not singled out but listened to together with all the other great songs on the album "How Dare You". For me it has been a kind of surrealistic concept album, one of the greatest pieces of pop art ever made. Art for arts sake!
I saw 10cc perform five years ago in Hamilton New Zealand.. an absolute feast for the ears.. the quality of their voices and their musicianship was supreme. I loved it. The variety in their music is most unusual for a band. The band met us all in the foyer after the concert and signed our programmes. They were warm hearted genuine guys. Nice to talk with them and shake their hands after years of admiring them from afar. Wonderful evening was had by all. Thank you 10cc.
Very under rated and talented bunch of musicians. All their songs are so different as well. My personal favourite of theirs is 'I'm Mandy, Fly Me.'
10cc are one of the best groups. Listen to their other songs. Thank you guys, for listening, to one of my favorite groups, from the 70/80's Just so you know, I subscribed. :)
You just have to react to 10cc "The things we do for love" it is a real eargasm that shows the breadth of the musicians in this band

When I was a young fella growing up in New Zealand, this song would get everybody up on the floor, at the local discos. 10cc wrote awesome music.
Finally! you reacted to this song ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Thank you
Such an amazing tune. And the sound I must say holds up more than well.
My absolute favourite 10cc track, from many. I'm Not in Love, takes me right back to long summer days in the mid 70s....🏖
They are truly Amazing! Such a beautiful song!🎶🎵🎶
When I was younger I thought they sang - Don’t you cramp me style Don’t you wee on me fish 😂

That's bloody epic 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The English loving an English game, in cricket, by an English band in Jamacia;-) 10cc were a bunch of session musicians formed by Mr Gouldman, who was the main song writer.
I remember when this song came out in late 1978. It should been a much bigger hit than it was. It's one of those songs that have been totally overlooked by radio.
10cc are an incredibly versatile British Band. My personal favourite song is Rubber Bullets.
I forgot about this song, my parents listened to it in the car - this memory just popped back in my head now THANK YOU
"Are they from the Caribbean"? Lol🤣 They're actually from sunny 😳 UK 🇬🇧. But, they were a fab band with some wonderful hits. "I'm Mandy, Fly Me" "Things We Do For Love" to name just a few. Xxx🎵🇬🇧
Feel The Benefit is an epic song by them. Maybe my favorite guitar solo if all time

10cc, a superlative Brit band. Go check all their stuff. You won't find a bad track.
Incredible Band, it wouldn't matter 10cc songs you react to because they're all classics.
One of the Best songs of my Childhood!! ❤❤❤❤
Brilliant track ❤️🏝️🏖️❤️❤️❤️
The Things We Do For Love is a must for your next 10cc song. You'll love it!!!
Your reactions are so much fun to watch, thank you for bringing positive vibes. Loved this song since it came out ❤️💛💚
I saw 10cc for the first time this year, what a great band!
I really enjoy 10cc's music but was only really familiar with the bit top 40 hits. I never heard this song before. It was really fun, "I didn't like it....I loved it!" :) It makes me want to go and search out some of their albums. Sometimes a groups very best songs are not the ones that they played on the radio. This is an amazing band. Have a great day you two wonderful, it was a great pick as always. Makes me really want a Pina colada!

Lots of good stuff on the albums. Some of it is pretty far out. Kind of prog pop.
My favourite of 10CCs is a bit left field... Une nuit a Paris. It is what helped bring us Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody. It is quite long but worth the listen.

My favourite 10CC song, made 1978 for me💥
Lots of good songs from this band, many already mentioned in the comments. I'd suggest: I'm Mandy Fly Me; Silly Love; Life is a Minestrone; The Things We Do For Love; and, Good Morning Judge would be good ones to try. One of their best hits was Art For Art's Sake - the album version is better than the edited single (6 mins instead of 4). Probably my personal favourite is Feel The Benefit, which is heard less often than many of their shorter songs.

Great reaction! You add to the song by reflecting my own feelings listening to the song. And the joy! It's a truly funny song!
One of their songs ‘Rubber Bullet’ is about a party in a prison which is broken up by the riot police. It’s got the great line ‘We’ve all got balls and brains but some’ve got balls and chains”.
I love this group. Haven't hear this one. Reggae, so cool!
I love this reaction video. West Indies were the absolute kings of cricket. So relevant at the time. 10CC were musical geniuses.
Yes!! Finally a reaction to Dreadlock Holiday by 10cc. I have asked for this so many times in comments. Ty very much.
I've seen them play this live many times. Top band.
Off to see them in Edinburgh October the 5th. Great band.

10cc were super cool and diverse. What I would not give for a band like them now. They were once described as being too clever by half and I think that was right. Other song are - I'm Mandy Fly Me, Art for Art's Sake, Wall St. Shuffle, People in Love, The Dean and I - and more. They were a thrill.
PROPER Summer Memories!✌🏻🏴
Brilliant band, no two songs are the same.
Brilliant group. I live 500 yards from where this song was recorded 😘
Such a great funny video. And a genius song that I cannot get tired of
Any song from the album Bloody Tourists. My favorites are "Old Mister Time and Shock on the Tube"
And I'm proud to say they are from my home town❤️🇬🇧
Manchester,England. Fantastic art rock band with very clever inventions. Silly Love by them, give it a try.
i was a kid when this used to get played on the car radio, loved it, classic tune from that era
Absolute holiday classic.
I'm old school and have been here a long time. I remember 10cc when they were new... 10cc.... Songs... Rubber Bullets ,Wall Street Shuffle, Mandy fly me etc....
Love your reaction to this!! Thanks!
Jamaica ! Must be one of the greatest places I have visited .. Lay back , cool , good food and Planters punch !
Alabama. She and I. You will be singing daily!
10cc recorded at Strawberry Studios in my home town of Stockport. One of our few claims to fame.
I believe this is partly based on a real experience one of the band members had there
Straight from wikipedia: The song was based on real events Eric Stewart and Moody Blues vocalist Justin Hayward experienced in Barbados; and Graham Gouldman experienced in Jamaica. Graham Gouldman commented: "Some of the experiences that are mentioned are true, and some of them are ... fairly true!"[3][4] Stewart recalled seeing a white guy "trying to be cool and he looked so naff" walking into a group of Afro-Caribbeans and being reprimanded, which became the lyric "Don't you walk through my words, you got to show some respect."[5] Another lyric came from a conversation Gouldman had with a Jamaican, who when asked if he liked cricket replied, "No, I love it!".
The beach scene was filmed in sunny Dorset.
British bands in the 80's and 90's had a lot of Reggae influence. (The Police is a great example, or Eric Clapton on some of his songs.)
Love is like oxygen.... banging tune ! Proper 70s Shamalam!. Much love from the U.K. x
This actually happens to one of the band members true story ❤️🇬🇧
Classic tune! 🏴
Rubber bullet is a great song as well
Your on a roll now take a look at Rubber Bullets, I'm Mandy Fly Me, Donna, Wall Street Shuffle and so on.
Art For Art Sake!!!!!❤️❤️❤️🎉
This Band is from England (Great Britain) about as far away from the Caribbean as you can get.
Do next from them also these 2 other hits : "The things we do for love" & "Wallstreet shuffle"
WTF! That „synchronized“ opening up your mouth… hilarious 🤩🤘🥳
Love you guys.
Old enough to remember there first hit Oh Donna another different vibe
Thats my summer song!
Great Couple!
The part with the chain was the inspiration for Friday when Deebo wanted to take the chain from Red.
After 10cc split Godley and Crème had some great songs including Under your thumb and the other two formed Wax and I’d suggest Bridge to your heart by them
Love this song so much, next, the things we do for love is amazing 🤩
Strong....long overdue for this
Mel can sing like an Angel!
