KZread suggested this video and so glad I clicked and watched!! I am a 65 year old Italian American woman that grew up in an Italian immigrant community in Bristol, R.I. where many of the Italian immigrants including my maternal grandparents came from Manfredonia in the Province of Foggia where they fished for a living which included my family. So much of what you showed in this video brought back many fond memories of my childhood. Most of my family lived in tenement apartments, and when the 1st family members being my great Aunt Carmella and Uncle Arthur were able to purchase a single family home with a basement that had a kitchen the whole family celebrated as that is where most of the family functions would take place from then on especially our Christmas Eve celebration. Coming from a commercial fishing family we had more like the Feast of the Fifty Fishes and most of the fish dishes were cooked in and eaten in Aunt Carmella's basement kitchen and as a result we all smelled like fish for days LOL. Thanks for the memories. 🥰

I grew up in Pittsburgh, and every weekend we could we went to the strip. PennMac was always the first stop on our list. Ahhh, the smells! Bread, cheese, meats, olives, pasta, olive oil, we have nothing like this in Arizona. I've flown back to Pgh just to go to the strip.

Fantastic stuff. I live in California, but have always had an affinity for Pittsburgh, even though I have never actually visited, dang it! Love the Italian section and I am sure the people are terrific. More Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania. Great episode.

Congrats to Sal, my favourite Italian, for touring the theaters throughout the US. I love the italian vibes,... like the old grandma´s of my hometone in Austria who kept the families together back in the day,.. good old days,.. sad those women are gone. Keep up your great work, showing a beautiful side of America and making people smile! Cheers
