    New performance cars come with tubular manifolds aka "shorty" headers. These cars have cast logs. Headers definitely benefit these cars, just keep your expectations realistic because you're only looking at maybe 20-25hp out of 600-800 dollar headers. The driving experience however, is priceless.

    What tune did you use? Was it a custom tune for the headers via sct? Just curious, I need a good safe starter tune for my longtubes right now since all the tuning/dyno shops are closed around me due to corona. I’m just eager to drive around but don’t want to mess up my car if I have “too much” airflow. And if there’s anybody in the comments let me know on what I should do. Honestly I don't think that they are worth that much money. No doubt they are a solid brand and I'm sure the fitment is great too but that seems ridiculous. I'm assuming all their parts are made in USA? That and if they are ceramic coated and xpipe is high flow could be why it's so expensive. The BBK LT's and xpipe I had were probably 1/3 the price of Kooks but I bought those a long time ago at this point

    Trying to see if I can do this for my Crown Vic. Regular manifolds are $100 each, and BBKs for a Mustang are like $400, for a pair. I'd have to redo the entire exhaust, but with the HP and better subs, might be worth it

  • @RatchetWrenches

    @RatchetWrenches

    3 жыл бұрын

    If I had to do it again I wouldn't buy BBK. For what you pay the fitment isn't great and you can't use all new hardware because of the fitment issues. At least that's how it is on my 2v. There are other better brands out there. But yes the HP numbers with correct supporting mods can make it worth purchasing

    Not worth it to me. I had the cats cut off of mine and installed Flowmasters. The 4.6 sounds so good.

    Depends on what your goals of the car is ultimately. The long tubes change the sound and allow more air flow but yes I do love the iconic sound of the 4.6s with a nice exhaust set up

    @@RatchetWrenches actually yes i know exactly what those parts add in best case scenario, to go any higher than 275 on a stock bottom end at tire you need cams or boost. I know because i have built my n/a 2valve and pro tuned by lasota racing. 😃
