I think another way the guitar/ violin analogy works is there is music that can be best enjoyed with an acoustic instrument in a suitable situation, but not every location favors acoustic instruments, and there's quite a bit of music that acoustic instruments simply can't perform.

Different string distance when bowing but basically the same :) the more strings, the less movement needed to change strings :)

Depends on whether you get a high E or a low F string. If it's a high E, it's less different. If you have a low F, you're probably going to bump it a lot or confuse it for your C string until you get used to it.

Thanks. High E. I was wondering if it makes the string spacing much closer. I’m trying to work out the fingerboard width vs string spacing to decide how easy or difficult it would be.

I run my Stratton skull thru a peavey nashville 100 and can make it sound acoustic.. lately I've been going direct with a fishman aura spectrum and can make it sound acoustic thru that also. The Barbara Transducer is amazing also!
