The closer you get to what has been called Self-Realization or attain Self-Realization (Enlightenment) the fewer dreams you will experience. This is because you have become more conscious than the average person and you are dealing with your problems consciously.

I’ve got to say I’ve been thinking a lot recently and my dreams have been slowly giving me answers. Maybe things that were so simple, things I already knew but didn’t. They are like scattered puzzle pieces

This shift in how one can perceive and respond to suffering, wow, it really is something.

"A dream is made out of non-dream elements"... rightly so. As the conscious mind dreams, the unconscious mind dreams of the conscious mind. Within that state of mind the two meet like cautious neighbours.

My mother always recieves dreams when she pray for awnsers. Maybe because she is a pure soul. After so much pain she always smiles and stays kind and wise. I think some people can receive visions. Not every soul is capable. It never happend to me. But i do have beautifull dreams. It feels like im alive in another dimension. Thats why i believe in the after life because the body dies but the soul is a traveler . Just like in your dreams , your body is still but you can expierence like you really moved. Being alive here or somewhere else is almost the same thing

Like clouds fiil with moisture... we fill dreams with "belief" so that they can precitate from the metaphysical plane we call heaven to this physical plane called earth to form reality. Currently, way too many vampires (greed) are dreaming of becoming as big and fat of a glutenous pig as they can be. This ugly dream is precipitating to the physical plane to incarnate a polluted pig pen. How about we dream that "life is a celebration with joy spilling out of the smiles of everyone" instead. Like Love intended for life to be in the first place.

Don't try to stop the anger, it is fine that you react this way. With time your reaction won't bother you too much and you won't get distracted.

Next time you have the unrelenting urge to cough in a public place, think of what you wrote here. Perhaps that might help you generate compassion for those who must cough.

Is it possible that the people in the audience could be more mindful and cover their mouths when they cough so they don't interrupt the work of Thich Nhat Hanh?

I dont think Thay is bothered by the caughing, or feeling interrupted. Our aversion to things is something we ourselves must deal with, instead of pointing fingers to external causes. I think thats a goal of practicing Buddhism, diminishing our negative emotions.

Shocking how a Bhuddist monk could talk so casually about dreams without ever addressing the very serious relationship between our fundamental spiritual nature and the spiritual realm. This willful ignorance on his part is inexcusable. Withholding information is another form of lying. I unsubscribed.

@Sammy smith You should never take anything that is said, with face value. More often than not Spiritual Teachers give answers that suits the capacity of the questioner. That is why dependend on the questioner, answers can contradict themself, but still carry some importance. For instance: One could say that there is no relationship between you and the spiritual realm, because it stems from the believe that you are something different than that. One could also say that dreams have no importance at all. One can say they have an importance. There is no ultimate answer, because words are already in error. The point of every teaching is basically only to get you to the point to look into yourself, which is done on no-mind. Its only a fingerpointing, nothing more.
