Are Chuck Taylors Really That Great For Lifting?

Did you know that wearing certain types of 👞 shoes can help your performance in the gym and even prevent injuries?
Maybe you have or haven’t noticed, but if you go to a gym you’ll see people squatting and deadlifting, but you’ll also notice that a few of them will have a pair of Chuck Taylors on. This is no coincidence.
The reason people gravitate towards this style of shoe is for the fact that these shoes have a flat bottom that has little to no give in the soles.
What this does, is it supports the feet as if standing on a flat surface with no shoes on, and allows the 3 points of contact on the bottom of your feet ( big toe joints, little toe joints, and heels) to connect and properly give stability and a neutral arch.
Chuck Taylors aren’t the only pair of shoes great for lifting, but they seem to be the most popular. Try training bare feet or with a pair of Chuck Taylors on your next sessions and see how you feel 🙌🏽

depends on whats the floor is made of, if its a wood floor it'll be very slippery and dangerous bcs theres no friction, i would recommend only squatting and dlifting in socks on a rubber floor or smt similar

as for the question wearing chucks or socks only is about the same thing, even barefoot could be included

Better.. toe box is restricted in chucks .. not so much barefoot meaning more stability

@@Mike-ut3kf yes!! And toe socks are even better, or best - grippy toe socks (with rubber element on the sole)

There’s 30 joints in the foot, and it’s not like he was confused with bones, because there are more than 25 of those in the foot as well.

Like what Dark said. But also, you need to make the investment of lifting shoes which not everyone wants to make. Im pretty sure chuck taylors are so common, most people would have them and wouldn't need to buy a new pair.
