A moment in time when a Nation was still reeling over the loss of an American symbol and so many innocent people needlessly taken away by an act of pure evil, you had Bette Midler immediately blessing your heart and soul. This should be shared all over again to remind Americans what unity and strength is like.🇺🇸

Hopefully the world can go back to normal and continue to change for the better. I am touched by the greetings from around the world in the comment’s section hoping for the best for the US.

I was 22 and working nights, and my mom burst into my room (I think around 9 or 10 am) and said "the country is under attack by terrorists." The shear terror in her voice made me wake from a dead sleep. I watched the TV in complete shock all day long until I went to work, which we were then sent home due to the days events.

So powerful & I'm crying now 😭
Everytime I watch this, tears just fall down.i can feel the agony of the families who have lost their lives.
Watching this on the 20th anniversary and it still brings tears to the eyes
Respect
This song brings me back to my childhood. Such a great song.
I was at home when I saw the plane hit the first tower. At first I thought it was a pilot error but no it was deliberate. I cried so much for several days and nights after the towers fell and this song just brought me to tears again. God bless NYC.
Between this song and The Rose I’ve never been more broken by two songs sung by the amazing Bette Midler. They always seem to appear during very tragic times in life and both break my heart and soothe my soul.
R.I.P 9/11 Victims This should't have never happen.
This can Never be Improved. SENSATIONAL! A classic forever.
I was 13 when it happened, in a little country faraway called Singapore. Gosh, how time flies. Love this song. Love Bette Midler. Thank YOU.
Bette Miller’s smile makes this even better......🇺🇸💫🇺🇸✨🇺🇸🌟🇺🇸✨🇺🇸💫✨🇺🇸💫🇺🇸🌟🇺🇸💫✨
I pray that people never forget those lost to us and vote for those who aspire to put America first and keep us safe.
I was doing a word puzzle today The words come after I figured out all the words The leftover letters were A message from JFK WE MUST NEVER NEGLECT OUR CITIES TO OUR PERIL.... 9/11/2001 PERIL...9/11/2020
I was 15 and will never forget. Yesterday we celebrated my friends daughter's birthday. It makes me remember that even in the dark, their will always be light. And that keeps us moving on.
This was so moving. Very nice - still brought tears 20 years later
To all you kids who weren't even born...you will never imagine the pain this country suffered on this day. We all came together to heal each other, we cried, we mourned, we changed. Everyone knows where they were standing when 2 planes crashed into 2 of the tallest buildings in our beautiful NYC. We saw it all from across the hidson River in NEW JERSEY...RIP to all our fallen soldiers 😔

I’m sure you don’t realize how foolish your comment shows you to be. At least 100 of those “kids who weren’t even born” are the kids of fallen firefighters. You don’t think they have pain that YOU CAN’T IMAGINE? at least several dozen were born to other men who were murdered that day, they have pain YOU CAN’T IMAGINE. 11 unborn babies were murdered that day….you don’t think the families have pain that YOU CAN’T IMAGINE?
My daughter sang this song when my Mother passed away, then 5 years later my daughter Susie passed away, this song always brings tears to my eyes.
I was there. So heart felt
I'm glad I was able to remember the souls that were taken that day.
I could see the trade center from my front window on the jersey side..it was hard to not to see every day after that

It did for many, including Jon Stewart. If you haven't seen his post-9/11 eulogy on the Daily Show in 2001 ... you should see it.
We will always remember your fight for our freedom this is for our people and why we are here
I love Bette!! You can sing a song & give me goose bumps. Your voice is a true gift from God!
And she's smiling while she sings it... says it all.
This song and the time it was sung always makes me fill up with emotion that I felt that whole period of time
This song always always touches the heart of everyone wherever they are especially when sung by Bette Midler. Shes a legend!!!. The song is so meaningful and so touching.
bravo 👏🏼
Thank you, Bette Midler - this song has always brought resolution for those in need of resolve, and closure for those in need of assurance, "Wing Beneath My Wings".
I remember being in class as a child probably 4th grade and my teacher hushed us and told us something was happening and turned on the Tv I still remember the news report and footage of the flames... I also remember my teacher crying... God bless everyone that lost someone and god bless everyone that searched for someone
Love this women a true legend
Look at the unity grief and love brings. We grieved together the whole nation on that day in September and many days afterwards. But the unity and love of our country remains to this day. Well done Bette Midler ❤️
I was only 6 in 2001 but I sure do remember 9/11 all over the news. Thank you Bette ❤

Awesome!
May God Bless their souls. Beautiful song. Resr in Peace
Omg, what a beautiful way to remember that dreadful moment in history.I was right there looking at it from my office window 39th/7. At the time i lived in jersey city. On a normal day, it tool me approximately 25min from train to home. That day it took me 5hr plus. No trains, Buses, subways .Only ferry boats. I waited in line for almost 2hrs alone just to get on the boat. I remember day b4 it rained, so i had my umbrella to shade me from the Sun. Once I got to Jersey City it was horrible. Thousands of people fighting for taxis buses. I remember walking 2miles down just to be able to get on the bus. Thank God i took my parents to the airport on that Monday, day b4. Thank God they left New York 1 day b4. Thank God for the people who got out alive, Firefighters, policeman, New Yorkers. We all banded together for the Greater Good. And God bless the people who died. God please bless who all that gave this beautiful video dedications of 9/11, for their hearts are hardened.
What a great singer
Nobody sings like Bette, puts her impromptu stamp on a beautiful song and makes it all her own again. What an amazing lady n singer
Always loved this woman’s vibe. Pardon me, Queen. Remember
So touching x
A wonderful tribute Thank you Bette.
I was just 3 months old, and every year in school on this day it didn't matter what class i was in. We learned about 9/11.
Love this woman! ❤️
Thank you....
Watching this and remembering how strong the unity and bond each and every American instinctively felt after that dark day. That feeling of such loss was felt by everyone across the nation, it was such a unique and tragic experience which left those who were around that time with this same unique wounded memory but at the same time, a somewhat comforting and heart fulfilling comraderie bond. Its really disappointing to see just how far apart that memory is from our countries current state of reality we live in now. Nothing has been made great at all, let alone anything close to what we had before, again. I see these maga klan rallies happening today and I can just picture what isis and the taliban were doing after 9/11 and get the same sickening feeling, these different groups just really hate Americans!

YOU are the problem... lumping EVERYONE into one group under one title shows how naive you are. What other group of people would you describe like that? Wake up. YOU are spewing the hatred that you pretend to condemn. Once you remove that judgement and anger you are carrying around, you will see real people wanting nothing but the best for our country and EVERYONE that lives in it ✌❤🙂

Mys Led You need to watch the Dancing Israelis. This was a false flag perpetrated to get us to obliterate Iraq and we did. Hussein never uttered a bad word against America. It was a horrible, horrible event of which none of us will forget.

Just love this lady. ❤️🇺🇸
I was on a flight out of Newark when the first hijacked plane hit. Then ALL planes were grounded - FOR DAYS! Nineteen years later, but my heart doesn't feel any better. *I will never forget!*
She made me cry too.
Gone from this plane but never forgotten 💜💜💜💜
I can feel the survivors pain every time I watch this video.
No words. 😔
Oh, what our fellow Americans went through that horrible, horrible day. I'll never stop thinking about and remembering them and their families. I'll do my best to honor them every year until I die. The people on the planes, in the buildings, on the streets staring in disbelief, first responders, young people who were inspired to join the military, the soldiers who died or carry their wounds to this day. I'll always do what I can to remember and honor you.
Beautiful Bless them all
Beautiful and expressive!
