It wasn't just the writing. Don't get me wrong, that built the masterpiece, but it was rock solid all the way thru. Every single thing about it. All of it. Acting, the music. The design. the action, the emoting from CG characters. The cinemetography. it came out of nowhere for me. I'd heard of LoL. But the show holy cow.

@@tacoman107 While that is agreeable, you have to understand that Arcane season 2 was announced *shortly* after the success of season 1. That tells me they were already working on it, and that they were already planning on releasing it. You act like they didn't start writing until after season 1 released, which is honestly insulting given the fact that they set up a season 2 perfectly with the way season 1's story was already going. I respect animators and writers with all of my heart, I really do. And that's why I just KNOW they've already been working on this. 3 years post-release is not that quick for a short animated series that already has the writing knocked out of the park. Really all they had left was minor writing tweaks, all of the animations (which they already have the models for), and the voice acting. Remember: Season 1 took 6 years because they had to build Arcane from the ground up. They had to figure out the story, they had to figure out the direction they wanted to take it, they had to truly perfect the characters, they had to figure out an art direction, they had to create the models, and they had to figure out how they wanted to animate it. Now that they already have the ground settled, it makes sense that season 2 would release 3 years afterward, because they don't have to do all of that all over again. If you really care about something, have faith in it.

If season 2 is even half as good as season 1 it's going to be amazing and one of the best animated seasons ever

Arcane released in November 2021. That's barely 2 years ago. It's not a live action show, animation takes a very long time to develop. This says it will release in November which will be exactly 3 years, which is honestly sooner than I was expecting. Also I just don't really know what to tell you? Rewatch the show, watch a recap video, rewatch certain episodes or scenes. I remember the story perfectly because the show was so good. The fact that you can't remember kind of just sounds like a skill issue. @@PepTalkTillYouDrop

I know ya'll kiddies don't like to watch anything that wasn't produced this morning, but I've been watching anime since 1978 and I haven't stopped, precisely because it's always been multi-tiered. Go watch the OG MS Gundam 0079 series, just as one insane example.

Something I find really interesting in Arcane is how incredibly grounded it is compared to the wider world of league. It takes place in a magic steampunk setting, and the only magic stuff are the blue gemstones, probably shimmer, and the wizard that Jayce saved Jayce as a child. Magic is treated as this super dangerous thing thats hinted at and researched. Its especially dangerous if tampered with. and I think thats why Piltover is so technological. Its just interesting how the wider LOL universe has deities and devils and gods and all sorts of crazy magical stuff, and characters that are brimming with magic. Its just super cool that the characters in Piltover are experimenting and tapping into it.

Another example that every story must have compelling antagonist. Modern screenwriters forgot about it. Caricature evil just for the sake of evil is boring and victory over it isn't honorable at all!

I don't even know where to begin. Chances are if you're reading this you love Arcane as much as I do. But there's just something about it that makes it the best piece of art I've ever experienced. I've watched it numerous times and I've watched the behind the scenes just as much because it makes it even more special to know how much effort, blood, sweat and tears went into creating it. The mere fact that human beings creating such a piece of art is beyond my understanding. The way I've described Arcane to others is, it's a series that I can't describe, you have to feel it. Arcane is a series that plays with my emotions like no other movie, series, book, painting or music can. The combination of the digital hand drawn animations, the story, the music, every single aspect manipulatimes my emotions in a way I can't explain. It is the most surreal experience. I often listen to some of the music from the series, particularly "What could have been" and I'm always taken on an emotional journey with that song, especially because of the importance it plays in the series. Again, it is beyond words to describe. Thank you to the team at Riot games for inspiring all of us by creating such incredible works of art.

I feel like praising this show will just turn me into a broken record but there really is no other way to put it. This show is indeed a masterpiece and I can easily say the best animation ever put to screen. The amount of care, detail and respect for ever character, every frame, the soundtrack and score. This is the pinnacle of animation. This is what you can only hope to be and it isn't even close and it is barely even disputed. The only concern I have is that the universal praise for the show may make the art team complacent. I frankly hope they don't listen to much to fans like me and just stick to their work.

@@thahoule7924 Like what? The character writing, pacing, animation, in depth understanding and application of emotional expressions both large and small are all immaculate. I struggle to think of any media at all that surpasses Arcane.

The first season is without a doubt a damn masterpiece, I hope the second surpasses the first, and it will be a difficult job to surpass it, but I have faith that this second season will surprise everyone. I'M EXCITED

I loved S1, but I'm really skeptical about bringing Vander back in any form. It would really cheapen his sacrifice and undermine the journey that both Jinx and V have taken so far. Really hope that if they bring in Warwick, that he is unrelated to Vander.

@@mrfish229 Well, people are questioning why Vander was put back. I doubt the series will explain the lore but it does connect to it. THe lore said Warwick was a Zaunite connected to both Jinx and Violet but never said what is the connection, now the series has put a clear link to that. Grow up.

Its a testament to the artistic majesty and engrossing story of the first season of Arcane that a show can go this long between seasons, with little marketing, and still stoke such anticipation for its second season. The existence of Arcane, all by itself, is justification enough for a Netflix subscription.
