Varus finally has updated voice lines now, you guys should react to it👍🏽

Varus is the darkin sealed at the bottom of the well and used the bodies of the 2 archers (Valmar and kai) as host to return. You are also correct that the purple stuff is void related. Darkins were shuriman ascended that were corrupted by the void.

@@donmowatt Yes and No. You cannot play valmar and Kai separately, but in the lore, their consciousness is still there battling with Varus. You can say you are playing 3 person in one. 😅

This is the middle part of a trilogy. But the first and last part are comics. The first is called "Varus: Heartlight" and the ending "Varus: Retribution", if you want to check it out. I don't know if you remember, but we once discussed about how the creators of the universe infused some people with immense magic and then they got corrupted by the Void and went crazy with blood magic. Varus was one of them. And because those guys became immortal with the magic infusion, people had to find another way to get rid of them. With some help from the creators, they found a way to seal their souls in objects, usually weapons. So Varus' soul is imprisoned in his bow, which then got hidden on the bottom of a deep well and watched over by priests. Noxus attacked and one of the lovers got mortally wounded while defending the place. The other one didn't want to let him go, so he jumped into the well and Varus' soul started to invade his mind. In the end he offered him a deal: I will save your lover, if you surrender your body to me. He accepted and Varus fused all three of them into one person, thinking he can easily subdue them. Regarding the timeline and nightmare fuel: Most of what you see isn't happening literally. It's Varus' soul dissecting the guys fears and dreams to find out how he can persuade them to give over their bodies :) So you are right with the memory thing!

I think that actually Studio Fortiche is doing the Arcane series. They did some cinematics for Riot in the past (as well other companies, I believe they also did some cinematics for MMO Wildstar), for example they did Get Jinxed, the first Warriors, Ekko: Seconds etc. they also did music video for Gorillaz once. I am a bit unsure about the status of the studio though, if they just cooperate (hired by) with Riot or they were bought by Riot and did turn into internal studio. But at the point of making Arcane, they were hired by Riot. Or at least on their site it says Arcane is series made for client Riot games. There were a time when Riot did not put full credits to their cinematics, so everyone assumed they were made by in-house animation in Riot games. :( So the Arcane series should not be a reason for the lackluster season 2023 video for example.

I started to check them out and im happy you brought that up - Their portfolio is insane and they deserve ALL the recognition - im seeing way to many people think arcane is internal at riot. It is my understanding that they are independent based on what i see on their site - probably on a contractual basis. - as an established studio that has a varied portfolio I think it would be to their detriment to give all that up just to work under riot on one project/accompanying franchises - as it is they are in a much more powerful earning/reputational position. I agree that arcane, nor any of riots other franchises - should be a reason why the 2023 cine sucked...i looked into their profits the last couple days because some people were saying/thinking that riot didn't have the budget/resources - to which i reply...resources is a blanket term for anything from money to software/hardware to human energy - all of which they are not struggling with. - companies always have overlapping roles for certain things but this could of been reasonably deduced before both VP's came out and said "we had the correct team and we had the budget" .... but basically still failed... So my question is - if they truly believe they had the right team on it....why was Illusorium studios chosen - with a lackluster portfolio and seemingly not much experience on such a large project from a marketing standpoint. And then they just wanna forget about it and give a response like...yeah we will make sure its good next year....LOL WHAT XD

@@donmowatt I think one of the main problems is the huge gap between people who are interested in the lore and esports fans. According to surveys most League players don't care about the lore at all or don't even know lore exists. So spending resources on that department has a very low income efficiency. Then Riot did the ruination event, which was fully focused on lore progression and done explicitly for lore fans - and it totally flopped. There were a ton of complaints about how bad the writing was, how grindy the ingame event turned out to be and a lot of lore fans were absolutely disappointed when they realised the main characters, who got set up for this event over multiple years, didn't even appear in the story. Like there is a character called Yorick, who got set up to be Viego's antagonist, like 5 years ago. He has been fighting against Viego for 1000 years now. But he isn't a popular character, so you can't sell skins for him and they just ditched him and built a new hero team with popular characters who didn't even know who Viego was until he stood in front of them. More than half of that team didn't even appear in any of the cinematics or comics because they had 0 story value and were just a means to sell skins. Riot released a statement after the event, but it was a bad excuse and clearly showed they didn't take anything away from the event. Their reaction to "The writing was bad, you completly disregarded established lore and did whatever, we want more and better thought through stories!" was 'Okay, even the lore fans don't like it when we do something lore related, so we should just stop trying and take people away from the lore team to other sections. It just isn't profitable'. I'm checking their lore side regularly and normaly they release 2-3 short stories per month. Well, the last one got released 3 months ago and the one before that 6 months ago. I think that's also why Riot stopped the Void event they announced for last year after Bel'Veth got released and decided to move their efforts/money to esports and Valorant. I guess Riot planned to do a big video again, but decided to stop the animation studio in the early stages/midway through because of the hate ruination got and then tried to find a cheaper and faster alternative. Hyping up esports and staying relevant that way seems to be their new goal/main focus. So I don't expect to get many events, cinematics or new champions until Worlds or the mid-season competition.

@@AvelynLunari When that event was on I was really hoping they wouldn't make it canon and then they confirmed it being canon and I was like what, how are you going to make this skin selling event canon where you have a berserker with a mohawk and a bloodharbor ripper ghost changing his outfit to help the good guys.

Make sure with Riot videos you don't skip after credits... Tho doesn't always apply to every video... Check out that last 10-15 seconds... Much like RIck and Morty... Almost always Riot has bit extra even if it insignificant

@@donmowatt its so many reactors that do this same mistake. For us watching reaction videos is so frustrating. Sometimes just of that, immediatly dont watch the rest. Depends on the reactor. But that part you guys skipped when yasuo meets ahri. And were they reveal they are travling to. Make sense in a later cinematic. My telling this bro to breath u probably making it worse🤣

@@Darkmanipulatorz The part when Yasuo meets Ahri? That's in a whole different cinematic - and we didn't skip that one, we watched it. Generally I'd say we're pretty good at catching those last few moments after the 'ending', but this time we missed it 🙃Thanks for pointing it out though!

In this situation the bow the primary, the darkin soul vessel the secondary, and the host, who use the weapon, the last one. Like your attitude, and you saw they are lovers with that soft tatching.
