You can actually hear the alarm going off at 0:57, scary stuff
Great composure and professionalism from both Porter Airlines pilots and ATC
That second controller I could understand every word he said normally, I have to put close caption on. He must’ve been military at one time just the way he was talking.

I noticed exactly the same. Excellent communication.
Absolute professionalism all round
Darned pounds versus kilograms. When will this industry standardize on units?
Porter 157 seemed to have a lot of trouble saying Porter 157
Pilot's calmer than Sullenberger!

Refer Federal Aviation Administration's Aeronautical Information Manual, or AIM, section 6-3-1. Couldn't be any clearer. This was a "Possible Assistance Needed".

I have been watching aircraft videos for years and never realized that "PAN" was an acronym. It did always seem like an odd thing to say. It's 04:30 here and I've already learned something today!@@barryvyner1161

@@barryvyner1161not sure why they had to use it as an acronym, couldn't they just take pan as panne? Do they also put words for each letter of mayday? 😂

@@DanLacroix Mayday originated in the 1920's and is based on the French "m'aidez" - help me.
