Just wanted to say thanks. I've had an Apple Watch 3 for about a year and had been getting really bad wrist pain recently (ache in wrist and pains up arm). Probably took about 6 months to develop. I am now wearing it further up my arm as you describe and it has had an immediate effect (now no pain at all). Apple really need to put out an advisory note on this. Thanks again!

I’ve just bought a series 6 two days ago and I’m getting the same issues. Started with numbness, tingling and dull ache in my little finger and back of wrist/forearm. I work as a radiographer/MSK expert and I believe that my issues and indeed a lot of offer peoples issues is due to the new posture of the arm which is not natural. Elevating the arm to view the watch uses different muscles. The muscle in my elbow/forearm feels slightly swollen, which is causing compression on the ulnar nerve (funny bone nerve), which is causing the issue. Lots of people are going to end up with musculoskeletal problems from use of these devices. I’m returning mine tomorrow before I do long lasting damage.

Thank you for the video. I had a "series 0" Apple Watch I wore for years, with no problems. Recently, I bought a series 7. I started getting pains in my arm and wrist. I tried different bands, different tightness, and even wearing it higher up (like you show). Nothing helps. I does NOT irritate the skin. The pain persists after I take it off and can take days to resolve. I just tried wearing it again today for a couple hours, and the pain is back. It's disappointing because it's very nice and too late to return.

A lot of people are feeling discomfort in their arm because they’re sensitive to EMF radiation that comes from the Bluetooth and the cellular radiation. The solution to this is to turn it in on airplane mode when you don’t need the connection which would probably be most of the day. The Apple Watch will still work to tell time, Measure your heart rate track your fitness etc. You can still use a lot of the apps, you can also store music podcasts and audiobooks on it. And if you need to connect it you can turn it on for the period of time you need it connected to Bluetooth or cellular. A lot of people have the same problem with Fitbit except that Fitbit doesn’t have airplane mode and your body is experiencing EMF radiation 24/7 for as long as you wear it.

I had tried this approach before watching your video but I started wearing it closer to my hand again. I am now trying wearing it like you advise again. The biggest problem for me was not pain so much but my issue was when ever my wrist would bend backwards during physical activity it would depress the crown button and summon Siri. So often it became very annoying. Also on several occasions the back of my hand would press both buttons and start an emergency call. One time I did not realize it and I had the police show up to my job site because my watch called 911 (U.S. emergency number). I am now wearing it above my wrist once again but unfortunately I have wrist bones that are further from my hand than most, I think. When I am wearing long sleeves it is very inconvenient because my shirt cuff extends about 5 inches beyond my watch. With loose sleeves this isn’t a problem but with tighter sleeves (like a thermal undershirt) it makes my watch inaccessible. Button sleeves on a dress shirt are absolutely out of the question.

So, if you aren't tightening the watch band so it holds still, are you just constantly readjusting the Apple watch on your wrist? Maybe it's because the Galaxy watch is so much heavier, but I can't find a balance on tightness and the watch not just falling to my hand every time I put my arms at my side

There is either Radial frequency cellular damage or nickel in the material. Either way, you may have to return the unit if you are still experiencing problems. It seems to be a problem with fitbit as well. Got a bad feeling it's the first one. The fitbit Blaze burned me. Seems to be a tech issue across companies. Someone was saying the same thing about Garmin. Until it doesn't harm us, we need to steer clear. Right now, we are Guinea pigs for the testing of man merging with machine.

This doesn't make a difference for me. My watch sits right on my a vein. I have no cushion on my wrist like most people do so whatever the watch puts out is having a more prominent effect. Interestingly, it bothers me much more when its not on airplane mode to the point where I can't even wear it. So I just keep it on airplane mode when I do wear it which isn't much.

When I first got my Apple Watch I wore every time I went out which was like everyday and it felt fine and comfortable for the longest. But then like 3 or 4 months past of every day use it started to irritate my skin. I found myself adjusting it multiple times during the day because of how the skin on in my wrist felt. So I figured my skin got irritated of everyday use so I stopped wearing it for like 2 and a half months in which I thought was plenty of time to heal but then when I try to wear it I get that same irritating feeling almost right away. And I did try wearing it how the video suggests and it didn’t help soooo I don’t know anymore.

I have a Series 3 Stainless Steel 42mm which I hardly wore for years as a result of this pain. I recently (4 days ago) decided to try using the watch again and I had the same issue. After about 2 hours, the dull pain began in my wrist and then began to radiate up toward my elbow - it's a deep pain, it almost feels as though my bones are aching. I took it off and the pain began to subside soon after, as it always does. I must say, the pain has always made me feel like the watch is detrimental to my health, it just does not feel right. This may sound dramatic, but I kid you not, it feels as though radiation is seeping into my body and has always made me scared that the device may - God Forbid - cause cancer if I were to continue to use it. I'm sure that if you have been unfortunate enough to feel this pain, you understand what I mean. I then thought about using the watch in airplane mode to see if this made a difference. When I put it into airplane mode with WI-FI and Bluetooth off and wore it for 2 days straight, I felt no pain!. This leads me to think it may have something to do with EMF radiation or something else to do with connectivity, (WI-FI, Bluetooth, etc). I have now started to use my watch in this manner. I wear it to track my fitness throughout the day with no pain when it's in airplane mode WITH WI-FI and Bluetooth ALSO off. It isn't paired to my phone most of the day so I can't receive calls, send messages or use data however, I can still track my fitness, A couple of times a day, I turn on my Bluetooth for a couple of minutes to allow for the fitness information (activity rings, steps, workouts, etc) to sync with my phone. It's pretty much a Fitbit now but at least I get some use out of it; the main reason I want to use it these days is for fitness anyway. Over the years, I had read many comments regarding pain stating that it's the way the watch is worn and I knew this not to be the case for me as I had tried so many different brands, placements, and fittings. If anyone has this pain, try using it with ALL connectivity off and seeing how you feel. I had no issues with my Series 2 in the past. Having read a few forums it seems like the problem is most prevalent in my watch model however not exclusively. It appears it's an issue that people have found across different series. I think our watches may be faulty or maybe we are just hypersensitive to the connectivity being so close to our body for extended periods. I must say, I haven't tried different methods of connectivity on the watch such as just cellular, just WI-FI, just Bluetooth, or different combinations. As I no longer have a cellular data plan, I cannot test this however, I will be trying to play around with connectivity settings over the next few days to see if I can get more use out of the watch without pain. If not, I'll just stick to having a Fitbit Apple Watch!

@Julio Rowel Hiya. I no longer have an pain as I don’t use the connectivity while it’s on my wrist. Unfortunately, I don’t have a data plan on the watch at preset so I can’t comment on using just cellular connectivity.

I have been using apple watch 3 for 6-7 months (on/off) and it took me a while to realise that watch is causing pain on my fingers (in my case between the knuckles). Initially pain was not too bad but lately it’s unbearable (difficulty holding the cup). I don’t think there is any justification to pain on how you wear it. Also not sure what kind of damage is done (other hand does not have pain and nowhere else)

Most likely it's Radial frequency burns. It's from the Bluetooth. You may have damage on a cellular level. Test the frequency of the unit. Everyone has different levels of tolerance, this is where the naysayers come in. I had to return mine after both wrists were burned, the marks were right where the light comes from on the pebble. It's supposed to be low frequency, but that's what they tell you. Test it. After 6 months of non use, and my right wrist is still a little tender in one spot. We are Guinea pigs in the testing of man merging with machine.

I’ve been wearing my Apple watch 4 for about 7 months during the day on my left arm. I have never worn it above the wrist bone closer to my hand because my wrist is small and bony and I don’t wear it tight. I’ve always worn it on my wrist closer to my elbow. I’ve been having sharp pains inside my wrist below the watch head and in my forearm. It’s better when I take the watch off and worse when on, so I will probably leave it off for a couple weeks and hope it goes away completely. I’m worried about the radiation. Someone recommend that I try wearing it with airplane mode on so maybe I will try that after a couple weeks, but most likely I will end up selling it. Is anyone else concerned with the radiation?? I’m kind of freaked out.

Last couple of days I used on the position that I mentioned and it is just ok now.
