They kept on lying. Crazy how the mom lied with her. You can’t get rid of that photo of the supposed bruised eye especially if it’s been sent through text. One of the phone would’ve had it. And bruises aren’t not noticeable after being hit then randomly show the next day. It’d be red at the very least which all the officers and medical personnel said there wasn’t any signs of injury on her.

The one kid said that the defendant grabbed that girl by the hair and was punching her in the back of the head all in the split second that the camera turned the other way. He never disheveled her sunglasses tho, or knocked the beer out of her hand, or knocked the vape out of her hand, or knocked the phone out of her bikini. They said Mius group was about 100feet away length wise and the river was about 150 feet wide. Miu was proven in yesterdays video to have so much room to look for the “phone” but he choose to be near the teens. That his own friends warned him going over near them would be seen as “creepy”.

Then opens knife moments later after walking around the tubes hits woman in face. Then he gets struck in response to Miu hitting a girl. It sounds like you haven't watched the whole video. In the video we see Nic (the older guy) rushing the teens and grabbing onto their tubes and perhaps legs... that's physical escalation #1. Then (not on video) multiple witnesses claim he struck a woman, and you can hear the teens reaction to it... that's physical escalation #2. He also steps in front of their tubes at one point to suggest blocking their movement. Also, at no time does he just try to, you know, BE AN ADULT and talk to the teens to settle them down. So from the video and multiple eyewitness accounts, it seems that Nic initiated a chaos sequence that led to him stabbing 5 people and killing 1. No adult should be justifying his behavior. This doesn't mean the kids were saints, but no good person is going to go on a stabbing spree over some mean words.

My Husband is Definitely a True Prime Example who is currently incarcerated for Self Defense. My husband was attacked by a Man with a Gun who had every intention to killing my husband, by the grace of God was able to retrieve the Gun and shot the Man in the shoulder with his own weapon and my husband was charged and is serving a 15YR SENTENCE!! My husband had NO history or record or any violent crime EVER!! But the man who attacked him has a record of violence. I wasnt gonna listen to closing statements because quite frankly Im sick of those two lazy prosecutors and I like Nelson, he is awesome but I like the little guys spunk better and if he wasnt closing I said what the hell, Ive heard it all already anyway. 😊But to my surprise and he was spot on.

"Queen of the river" lololol. Let me correct him " Queen Karen of the River" the ultimate river monster. Madison Coen, the bully who wouldn't testify in open court. The bully of bullies. I was jumped by a Karen in my teens and she refused to testify in criminal court so the judge made me leave the court room. He nailed her tho, as I heard later.

Excellent presentation by defense, clear, logical and methodical.

The defense attorney made an excellent closing argument. If justice is done Nic will be exonerated. The ones who should be in prison are the punks who attacked him and created the situation that got some of their number stabbed and one killed.

The defense attorneys are way more prepared than the state attorneys

As a teenage boy what would you do if you saw a grown man hit a girl or woman? Defend her correct? That was the only self defense that happened. Those boys defending a girl from a 52 year old 240 pound man. Who approach who and wouldn’t leave after being told to do so over 20-30 times ? Taking the moral high ground doesn’t make anyone right. It was a very screwed up situation, he should have tried to walk away, then if attacked he would have “looked” better. However, by law! You have no duty to try to walk away when being threatened by someone blocking your path forward. They had the duty to move out of his way so he could get past but instead they are all standing in his way intimidating him.

Miu approached the teens first aware he had a lethal weapon, was first to lunge at them, first to make physical contact and was first to throw a punch. He stabbed a teenage girl HALF HIS WEIGHT for God’s sake who was clearly unarmed and no threat to him. He is GUILTY OF MURDER.

Agreed. First, the video discredits most of the "eyewitness" testimony. Second, any REASONABLE person in his position would feel an absolute imminent threat of serious injury or death. It appeared to me that everyone was attacking him without any provocation. The second group joined in without any clue what was happening and immediately became aggressive toward him. It was so bizarre...or should I say they acted like a bunch of drunks. It is possible he might be found guilty of one or two assaults, perhaps the tattooed girl?! That was arguably unreasonable. However, the prosecutor did not do a great job during closing so even that is questionable.

Excellent closing statements to prove Adequate Provacation as part of the Second Degree Reckless Homicide with AP. Mui's statements to the female detective right after the killing are damning and full of bold faced lies. Remember he fled the scene into the woods without rendering aid and never called 911 after killing a 17 year old boy.

It’s a low level misdemeanor offense that will result in a fine at worst.

The Judge and the Prosecutor of this case MUST be disbarred for life for bringing a fully justifiable case of self-defense to trial; instead of charging those who incited a violent mob, and those who violently accosted and assaulted Mr. Nicolae Miu. Moreover, a competent Prosecutor should have charged the two adult women on he scene for contributing to delinquency of minors by providing alcohol to juveniles, and for inciting those drunk juveniles into a violent mob to commit felony assault against an innocent passerby. Both the Judge and the Prosecutor absolutely MUST be disbarred for life and civilly charged for systemic conspiracy to destroy an innocent man who was forced to defend himself by a drunken, violent mob of juvenile delinquents led by two adult female bully ring leaders.

Rittenhouse left his home to purposely get in the middle of that stuff, he went there armed knowing what was going on, he had a gun he wasn’t allowed to even have,at the end of the day they did approach him, so he should’ve been found guilty on something. Nick didn’t take the knife to stand up to bullies he didn’t go to the river looking for trouble, he didn’t do anything except ask about his friend’s phone.

@@erin.v.m657 I understand it’s a constitutional right but public records show right now that his lawyers have not filed a notice to appeal, which was apparently due after 20 days of the conviction in Wisconsin.

I really believe that Cockfield and Coen are the reason why this whole thing escalated the way it did. This defense attorney Mr. Chirafisi calls Cockfield “the ringleader” and Coen “the queen of the river.” Couldn’t agree more.

Sooooo at first I felt like this man was totally a weirdo and those kids and anyone harmed didn't deserve it. After watching the whole trial, I've never in my life had the poorest judgement on a situation off jump and I've never been wrong usually from my first initial thought. I truly don't think this nicolaoe mui was in the wrong. I did a complete 360 after watching this entire trial and the only thing I feel really sad about this is that well one someone should never have been harmed to begin with but this man also has had so many things happen after the false claims the teens made. Including a divorce. This is not something that should of happened but I hope the jury finds this man not guilty. Smh so crazy.

Your a good person. My husband and I went grocery shopping, when he returned the cart, out of no where thugs approached him. I was already in the car. My husband carries a pocket knife. As the thugs were taunting him, I was screaming out the window "it's not.worth it!! It's not worth it!!" He could barely say 3 words the whole way home. I thought the kids were just being wordy, but no. He went in the bathroom and called me in, here his back had what looked like a million tiny bruises. He thinks they had a hand held by gun or something. I could not tell all that was going on. He was terrified, I can only imagine what Mr. Miu went through. Horrific. Not guilty, self defense p.s. we live an hour from where this happened, and it did not surprise me when it did.

Herd mentality.

They got their friend killed and they should be charged with felony manslaughter and Mr miu should go free for the culture

So miu approached them, charged at them, and no one attacked him until he put hands on someone and miu is the victim? He could and should have walked away. He had the chance to do that several times, he could have used words and spoken to the teens. He chose not to talk and try to resolve the issue, he could have stayed silent and walked away. He chose not to do that and then chose to stab people. The teens and others were loud and drunk but that isn't an excuse to kill someone. No one laid hands on him until he chose to act.

The saddest part about all of this is that if Nic Miu were to be found guilty, the group of people who berated him, called him lewd names, bullied him, and assaulted him will spend the rest of their lives believing that they were right in doing what they did and that they got away with their awful Behavior without any consequences. Everyone who surrounded Nic, laughed at him, called him names, berated him and assaulted him should feel responsible for the outcome of all of this. Their Behavior is what is responsible for leading to destroying one man’s life and the unnecessary death of one of their friends. They played with fire, got burnt, and now they trying to make excuses so they don’t face the consequences.

Mr mui would be in jail for life if it wasn't for the video .. I mean I honestly think Mr mui didn't ha b e a choice. If he'd have done it differently with less severity unfortunately. Mr mui would have been attacked no doubt, and Mr mui didn't know what these young ppl were cabale of if they weren't stopped in their tracks. This is all unfortunately but if the teenagers would have acted just indifferent or cordial ..nothing would have ever happened that day

Stranger danger is real. Think the young kids were making fun of him to get him to leave yet he came back and push the tube of the kid filming. How can you claim self defense when you have an out and dont take it but go back knowing you have a knife and incite the situation?

@TheDkb427 I agree with you. I don't like the idea of him using self defense, especially when we have video evidence that he could have just walked away. There was no need for deadly force but it's wild to see how many disagree with us on that.

@maxpunkin3128 I don't think it takes much speculation as to why he should have walked away from a group of rowdy drunk teens... pretty sure the phone no one but him cared about could wait while they floated away down the river... 🤔 seems logical to me anyways.

No need to walk away, a stand your ground exist for a reason. Of these drunk thugs would have been taught properly by their parents this incident would have been avoided. Everyone was drinking heck even the river was drunk. That said the young drunk teens should have known better. Sure in hindsight he should have walked away but it’s too late now. This is the same issue with Kyle Rittenhouse… too many god dang stupid kids and adults during that day and the days that followed

Meanwhile Nic claims he was scared for his life yet approached the teenagers by himself like a madman and never walked away until after stabbing 5 and killing 1 As a teenage boy what would you do if you saw a grown man hit a girl or woman? Defend her correct? That was the only self defense that happened. Those boys defending a girl from a 52 year old 240 pound man. Who approach who and wouldn’t leave after being told to do so over 20-30 times ? Who 🤷🏻‍♂️ The defense attorney is an absolute joke of a human being

Mui does 15 years in prison for Second Degree Reckless Homicide Adequate Provacation is best hope of defense. He killed a 17 year old and stabbed 3 others and probably adequate provacation will be proven

Does anyone know why he wasn't granted bail this whole time? The man has been in jail for 2 years... For defending himself. It's so sad.

I those "kids" should have been the ones charged. He was being attacked by a mob of people, it was clearly self defense.

The defense just crushed this closing. Anyone who saw the videos and listened to the key points, he laid it out very well.

it's crazy that so many people think punching and hitting couldnt have killed a old man who recently had heart surgery. they think he should have just taken the beating. glad Miu defended his life, and the other teens should be charged with attempted murder.

That was a fabulous closing argument. Here is a great example of what a defense attorney should behave like. Way to Represent!!!

I will have my 14 yr old son sit down and watch this trial and video “for the culture “ so that he understands what I have always tryied to teach him …. You don’t ever bully or be a part of group that acts in this way. That video was so hard to watch over and over again. All I could think of is my 75 yr old father in this situation, he would have probably reacted in the same manner. This is so sad but a learning lesson for everyone with young children & teens.
