For anyone who can't afford the food processor or just wants something lighter and quicker to use, I am keen on my Presto Salad Shooter Pro. It's maybe $35 and makes grating carrots and beets SO quick and easy ! There are other attachments so that you can also make thin (or very thin) slices of potatoes, like those used in scalloped potatoes and potatoes au gratin. (Onions? No!) Very few parts and dries fast and, best of all, doesn't take up much room in kitchen cabinets.

Great suggestion. I did have a food processor for most of my cooking years. All for anything that would make the job easier. Here is the video with my using a basic box grater. Little more work and a little messier but gets the job done. kzread.info/dash/bejne/moRhlJeroZXgetY.html

@@KitchenDadsCooking Yeah. It actually amazes me that I have not seen even ONE KZreadr (though there must be one or more) use the Presto Salad Shooter for grating, and MOST people seem to use the box grater, which in all fairness is harder to use for women (less muscles) and way more chance of small injuries.

Can't tell you how many times I "grated" some of my finger with a box grader. Might have to pick up the Presto, try it and do a review video. Thanks for watching!

@@KitchenDadsCooking I hope you do. They are so awesome! Three Tips: have it plugged in and already turned on BEFORE placing food to be grated or sliced into the chute. It won't work if you put the food in first. Have a large empty bowl ready to receive the gratings or some of it will go all over your counter. Last, press down with the tamper BUT NOT TOO HARD. If that is not working it means you have overloaded the chute. It's a fairly medium-to-light pressure that you put onto the tamper when all is optimal. (Fourth Tip: Always smart to rinse off the parts as soon as you are done grating or slicing for easiest and quickest cleanup.)

Of course you wash organic vegetables. They are raised with extremely creative fertilizers. Be careful, like biosolids. Ick.

Neem can be sprayed on plants and some essential oils during (veg stage) once a week and stop when the plant starts to flower you no longer need to spray and the plant/soil system takes care of itself. So by the time for harvest there is no residue left, and even then neem, garlic, rosemary, lavander ect.. are non-toxic natural fertilizers but true most larger scale organic growers are not as specialized as some of us in the optimal growing methods. Also add neem to the soil and plant flowers nearby that attract good bugs. Simple & Effective :)
