Apparently I'm A Bit Anxious | Sheepdog Says

I've been chasing up my diagnosis booking and they referred me for an interim bit of help, which is positive, but their initial assessments of me have me down as moderately low mood, and EXTREMELY anxious - which I was ready to 'debate' on the call but then we went through it and I was left thinking 'Ok yeah...fair enough...alright then...'

Glad the call went well and hopefully it will open the door to further support. I've been on the waiting list for cognitive behaviour therapy for the last 10 months... Apparently I have at least another 4 months wait so I get the waiting time anxiety a bit. I also have the constant busy mind especially when I try to sleep. The only thing I have found to work for me mirtazapine medication to help with sleep but I completely understand the side effects not being positive. When I tried to wean myself off mirtazapine it was an absolute nightmares and I ended up having to go back on it because it left me with complete insomnia, no appetite and a constant headache. My reliance on medication does worry me at times that's a whole other issue. I think I remember you mentioning you had tried cbd products at some point? Not sure if you are still using them but if not might be worth giving them another shot to help with anxiety. I've been tempted to try them myself but I'm not 100 % if they are safe to take alongside antidepressants so haven't tried them but others I know have found them helpful.

I think maybe more CBD would help. I can’t remember why I stopped tbh except maybe it ran out?

When you have a thought write it down. If it comes to you st bedtime have a notepad next to the bed and write it down.

I like that. Will prob add it to my notes app. Sometimes I just remember things from being a kid or teen or whatever and hate it heh

@Sheepdog Says but at bedtime paper is best. As bright screens affect your sleep.

If you became a Chelsea fan you might enjoy the songs more 😆... With the work email I would just follow up with the manager, especially if it's going to help with anxiety, I would feel the same worrying too.

It’s not an anti chelsea thing exactly. I hate the Arsenal chant where they say their name over and over. I can’t stand YNWA as a song too which is controversial haha.

This isn't really related to the video; but do you have any experience with the hidden disability sunflower? I'm possibly going to England in about a month, and I'm really looking into either ordering one before I go so that I have it already when I get there, or getting one at the airport or a supermarket etc. I've heard a lot of good things about people being well accommodated when they're wearing one, and people who work in public places in England being really understanding and nice about it all and doing what they can to help, and I'm just wondering if 1. you have any experience or tips (also for traveling in and out of the country, as well as general tips for England, as I've never been there before), and 2. if perhaps that would be something good to look into for either you, Oli or both.

I’ve heard people use it well and if you make sure you show it to people if you’re struggling they’ll understand as it’s common here now. I did think of getting Oli one. We don’t go out much tbh.

@@SheepdogSays Even if you dont go out much, could be nice just to have in the car or something in case you're going into a shop or going out at some point. Yeah, I'm thinking it could help at the airport; I've never been to airports as big as Gatwick or Heathrow before, and combining that with social anxiety and a lot of anxiety about covid and such, I'm worrying a bit about if I'll cope well. I'm also gonna try to phone up the airport beforehand and ask for assistance, as I know that's possible in some places!

@@nathanboo7649 I think they will be able to help you. They are big places but the people who are there are used to it.
