What a treat to listen to one of the greats who doesn't get near the praise he deserves.

This is a great interview with one of the best second generation star of all time. Windham was the best. Thought his dad was great too.

Barry Windham in his prime was arguably the best worker in the business.

I love seeing an accomplished wrestler interviewing another legendary wrestler . It has a different feel than most shoots . And Barry was one of my tippy top faves growing up ! As jim Cornette described it once that Barry moved so graceful in the ring like a gazelle ! He may have been slender looking but was STILL a BIG guy !

He was at his best as a babyface at about 265lbs . Later , he gained weight slowed down and was not as convincing a heel as he was a babyface . He was one of the few babyfaces I liked watching . He was intense without being a downer . Great energy . As a babyface I gave him a 9/ 10 and as a heel 7.5/10

I hated his joining the Four Horsemen not because he was not on their level but because his vibe was as an everyman and a bit red neck , The Horsemen were like fratboys and yuppies . Thats why I wanted Luger to stay in the Horsemen . He exuded that same narcissism although he was rough in the ring . When Luger and Sting were the top faces the balance of great workers was totally slanted to the HEELS . People were not so appreciative of Steamboat and Garvin at that time as they are now . They had seen Steamboat feud with Flair for 8 years and Garvin was considered a bit small ( he was but still one of the best ) ....Barry was big , young , handsome and smooth in the ring . He was needed to chase Flair not be his Flunky .

I just finished watching an entire hour of Barry vs Ric in Battle of the belts for the championship. I wouldn't waste 20 minutes of my time on any current wrestler out there. THANK YOU Mr. Windham.

Barry Great Pro Wrestler ......Black Jack was legit .... beat up Harley Race and Harley did not try him later ..just rode to the next town drinking his beer and smoking his Marlboros ..in the same car ..

That was a losers fight ... if those two went at each other it would have only hurt the both of them . If Harley won he would still have taken a beating and so it would be with Blackjack . Not good for business . Kind of like the friction backstage between Doc Williams and Hawk , they squashed it because they were too evenly matched to settle anything . And it would effect their earnings .

Two of my favourite wrestlers ever in my top 5 of all time! I loved the Starrcade 92 match pitting Steamboat/Douglas vs. Windham/Pillman for the Unified NWA/WCW World Tag Titles. I watched that match over and over so many times as a kid and teenager that I could probably describe it frame by frame.

You can tell that Barry and his nephew Bray Wyatt (Windham Rotunda) were related by their facial features.

Douglas honestly admired Barry and I'm impressed with that when I was young and first seen the NWA i was drawn to Windham. Shane was perfect as the Franchise and I do believe other wrestlers were jealous of him Wwf.... NWA

One thing that has been lost with National promotions is the local loyalty . Back during the territory days I went to several shows every month . It built a report with the wrestlers and the fans . These were OUR GUYS and we preferred them to most wrestlers that were mainstays elsewhere . Hacksaw Duggan is still a huge star in Louisiana . People love the guy because we saw him lay it all out in the ring for us . He was a great heel and a great babyface tough guy for us before Vince made him a comedy act .When we reminisce about him its his Bad Ass days in Midsouth and not his better known time in WWF . The Rock N Roll Express got their first really big push here . The Midnite Express was formed here ( as Dennis ,Bobby and Corny ) . Ted Dibiase created JYD when he heel turned on him . Lots of things played out in real time and was accessible to us each week . Now , if WWE comes 1-2 times a year they might draw half a house and cost the fans a fortune . People lost interest in wrestling when they could not see it live every week . Now its like when the circus comes to town . Not a culture anymore .

I remember when Douglas pinned Windham with the belly to belly suplex to win the WCW/NWA Tag Team Titles, when Rhodes/Windham had Douglas/Steamboat beat, but Dustin didn’t want to take advantage of Steamboat who got hit in the groin. Then, after Dustin cost Windham the match and the titles, Windham turned heel and destroyed all 3 of them. (Clash of the Champions 21)

These Dynamic Dudes almost appear like Brothers down to their body and hair ;). Its kinda Surreal as he mentions The Barry Windhams when doing the speech before throwing down the NWA Championship among others. Would be cool if he could interview all of them though that wont ever happen especially the Ric Flair one haha. BlackJack Mulligan or so was kinda before my time. I always thought Barry had like a lean frame sorta like Dustrin Rhodes in a way. Just never really vibed with me its hard to explain. The Franchise only really worked in Triple Threat in ECW. Though he did get to work with Torrie Wilson among others in WCW haha. I don't have any real memories linked to Barry or match or moment its really strange ;)?

I can believe that Adrian was resistent to putting over Windham and Rotundo . He had a nasty attitude because he was good and felt like he should be on top . Murdoch was better for business . He was not afraid to lose .

No wrestlers should be on Social Media as anyone other than the wrestler they want you to believe . There is no mystique to wrestling anymore . Not because we know its a work but because they do not protect the suspension of disbelief . Angles and rivalries should be played out on Twitter , etc. Another thing , heels are dispicable people . They should be an example of not only doing and saying awful thi gs but they should also have to eventually pay a big price for being racist , sexist , communist , etc... promoters need to sack up and allow people to get really mad at heels .
