Anxiety: How To Feel Normal Again | Everything You Need To Know

How do we get back to normal after a period of high anxiety?
I'm an anxiety expert and in this video I explain everything you need to know to stop feeling anxious and get back to normal.
I’m Tim Box. I’m a mind coach and for more than a decade now I’ve been working with people to help them get the other side of their anxiety issues.
One of the most common things I hear people say, is that they want to get back to what they recognise as normal.
The good news is that every human being on the planet can make the changes required to get beyond their anxiety issues. It doesn’t matter what we’ve been diagnosed with or how long we’ve been suffering with this, it’s a basic human trait that our brains continue to grow and learn no matter how old we get.
Well, in this video I’m going to explain the steps we need to take to come out the other side of our anxiety issues and feel normal again.
And the strange thing is…it’s probably completely the opposite of what you’ve been doing so far.

Let me know your thoughts on this one. Did the idea of getting caught fearing your anxiety response resonate? Did the points I covered here help with that? Also, don't forget to check out this one next: kzread.info/dash/bejne/fJl1uqmemJrAd84.html Tim.

After 25 years of living with anxiety What helped me so far: Being true to myself making my POV and feelings a priority Stop trying to be special, best or first in all aspects of life Stop fighting fear Sleeping enough Breathing excercises, body first approach Accepting hard memories as they are and going forward anyway not giving them additional meaning and weight Accepting challenges and look at them as opportunities to grow Don’t care so much about others opinions Looking anxiety as excitement

Love this list. As with so many things in life it’s the many (often subtle) things combined that get us there rather than the one ’cure all’ approach. 😊👍🏻

I’ve yet to get to that point where anxiety has been of any benefit to me, but I’m doing my best to learn! Hope you’re feeling well

Anxiety is something that’s plagued me, for most of my life, and taking flight has always been my preferred option and still is, I think you’ll agree nervousness and anxiety are two totally different things.. hypnosis is probably the only thing I haven’t tried at this stage. There are times when my anxiety is particularly bad I’d sell my soul to be rid of it.

I know exactly how you feel. I have lived with it at a pretty uncomfortable stage for seven years now, and I find that watching videos like this , understanding it won’t kill us but man it can be at a high degree of discomfort. I read a book from Claire Weekes, an Australian doctor from back in the 1960’s, she explains how to face anxiety, easier said than done but it has worked somewhat with me up until my husband passed away recently. Facing each day with anxiety as it comes. You can do it, promise.

Helpful and very insightful!! I’ve been on the struggle bus with abrupt anxiety the last 4-5 days out of nowhere. This helped me very much! I had a stressful event 2 weeks ago, and to my belief, I belief in just now delayed responding to the event in the form of being anxious about being anxious!

Hope the content on this channel goes some way towards dispelling that fear. I’m planning on making a video soon that focuses specifically on this single idea and why it’s pretty much at the heart of all of our anxiety issues.

Hi Tim, lots of useful insights in this video as always so thank you. I think the sticking point for me is that I can never actually know if my physical symptoms are anxiety/panic or health related and maybe something is actually happening/ going wrong. I've done so much work over the years on trying not to fear anxiety, but it's just never fully clicked for me as there is always that doubt of maybe this time something is actually wrong in my body. Would be interested to hear your thoughts, thanks!

Hi Rachel. I know it’s been a month since you posted this and I am no expert whatsoever, but I thought I’d respond in case you were still in a rut! Please take all of this with a pinch of salt as this comes from past experiences, rather than expert advice. Anxiety is caused by uncertainty - if you knew you were 100% not ill, you wouldn’t feel so anxious (which is why you feel better after the doctor tells you there’s nothing wrong). Similarly, as Tim alludes to in the video, anxiety can perpetuate itself because we’re so anxious that we’ll never return to “normal”. To try to feel better, perhaps try to embrace the uncertainty that something may or may not be wrong with you. I know this may be scary but, if you do get ill, you will have no choice but to cope or deal with it - and I bet you will deal with it. For now, try to embrace the uncertainty so that you’re not wasting time when you are physically fine, and remember that (unfortunately) worrying about being ill doesn’t make you any less likely to be ill. If you did get some horrible illness, I bet you’d be very annoyed that you wasted all this time worrying, rather than trying to enjoy life! Finally, my friend who’s a doctor gave me the advice that, if something lasts 4 days, then it’s fine to call the GP and get checked out. For example, I’ll often get a nervous stomach and I’ll be worried I’ve got a problem. However, after 4 days, my stomach feels better/fine again, so I can just chalk it down to anxiety. And if you have anxiety and get anxiety related symptoms, perhaps keep a diary so that you know in yourself that the symptoms are statistically far more likely to be anxiety driven

So sorry to hear what you’re going through right now. Know with absolute certainty that this is not a permanent state. It’s often only our fear of this state perpetuating that keeps us there. The fear and anxiety will pass and this will allow your energy to return and get on with living life to the fullest again.

Im 62,.. been working the best job i ever had for decades.. Something terrible went wrong, i made a near fatal mistake. I stressed next level, no sleep for day's, worry, anxiety... i lost my job that was everything to me... i lost all my stability, for the now, and has destroyed my future plans. How does this level of anxiety go away? I don't do, or go anywhere. Lost interest in life. Depression is horrible. Regret, guilt, blame.....
