You can now get omega three capsules made from microalgae. These contain both DHA and EPA. Fish get their omega 3 through consuming marine plants so it makes sense to obtain our omega 3 from lower down the food chain. This has a positive environmental impact because fish stocks and krill especially, are under massive pressure from increasing demand for omega 3. Taking microalgae also lowers the risk of consuming heavy metals that have bioaccumulated in fish.

In 2018, I started living a serious low, low-carb lifestyle to reduce inflammation and pain in my left knee that had been diagnosed as arthritic about a year earlier. I had started helping care for my Mom and had to transfer her by pivoting on my legs. It worked wonders! I also took some supplements and started the treadmill and weights at the gym. Never felt better and if I fall off the wagon too much, that ole knee starts letting me know after about 3-5 days!! All that to say that I believe inflammation caused by too many Carbs is the root of most health problems nowadays.

I've been studying this question for a long time because I had the same question. I believe that if you have a chronic health issue that makes you miserable, then it is worthwhile to go ZERO carb for a while to see if the problem goes away (essentially eat only meat, eggs, butter, no dairy). Then gradually re-introduce one carb at a time (ideally natural fruits and vegetables). You're right - vegetables are not terrible for people who do not have gut issues. But ALL ultra processed foods are deadly so give up the sugars and starches and grains @@seitanbeatsyourmeat666

Yogurt without sugar from pasture fed animals is the better choice in yogurt...best wishes.
I eat only whole foods for the past 12 years. No alcohol, no caffeine, no salt, oil or sugar. I don’t eat any animal products either. So only fruits, vegetables, legumes, whole grains, healthy fats. No processed foods. I haven’t eaten dairy since 1995. I make my own soy yogurt and sauerkraut and eat them daily. However since that time I have more musculoskeletal pain, now have hypertension and still have hypercholesterolemia if I do not take medications. 3 years ago I developed IBS and discovered I have microscopic colitis. I take a high level multivitamin with D3 and iodine, an excellent omega 3, and B12 since I am vegan. I take a prescription-level probiotic. I have taken Mg for years since developing musculoskeletal pain. I walk 2-3 miles a day, do light weight training. So I am an example of doing everything right and I still have all these problems. Food and supplements don’t heal 100% of people 100% of the time.

You need to give up being a vegetarian and eat keto to improve your health. If you chose not to, then these problems will continue. That’s fine, but that’s the choice you make. I’ve been veggie for 40 years, now eating meat again and have never felt better in terms of inflammation. Now it’s just my conscience that suffers.
