My pleasure! You can also purchase liquin impasto which already comes in the tube. That's what I've been using as of late.

Very helpful. I was originally told to use liquin as a thiner. I love the glossy surface it crates when i use a lot of it. I then use paint out of the tube on top . Sometimes the liquin layer is not totally dry yet, so it mixes a bit. Then i use linseed oil with paint out of the tube on the 3rd or 4th layer. Is this okay? Or will i find problems later. I guess i was told to use it as thin because it drys faster. I had no idea it was actually a fat. Is there a thiner that acts like liquin i should be using. Will my paint crack from using so much liquin in the bottom layer even though it drys faster then the top layers?

Hi Tanner, I wanted to ask sort of a piggyback question off of liquin ratios and the fat over lean rule. I have heard that liquin creates bonds that are more flexible than traditional mediums where you mix thinners with oil or stand oil- if I were going to go back to a painting that is touch dry (been sitting for over a week) that has only 2 layers (or so) of paint with a mixture of say 20% stand oil to 80% thinner.. so it’s pretty dry) could I use liquin as a medium to go over the top of areas I would like to build more intensity of color? Or should I stick with the stand oil and thinner?

Hello, I was wondering how do you just draw the shapes and not detail them? When I paint I just want to get started and go to quick. (can you teach us in class Mr.Steed?) Ellie.W

This is very helpful. I have a question, how do you dispose the liquin bottle? Is there any specific way to do it?

I dispose of it in a trash bag. Unfortunately, I do not know of a more ethical way to dispose of the bottle. If anyone knows of a way, please share!

Great question. Because liquin is an oil medium you should slowly introduce more liquin to your subsequent layers. It is more important to paint thick over thin than to worry about the quantity of liquin in your paint. You want slower drying layers on top of faster drying paint. The thicker the brushstroke, the more likely that the paint will dry slower.

@@tannersteedart there's no way I'm disagreeing with you, I'm just majorly confused with this fat over lean thing. Isn't Liquin considered to be a lean medium? In other words, shouldn't I be using less Liquin with each layer, not more? Anyway, love watching you channel, you a big help. Thank you.
