Another Big Decision + Life Update | My IVF Journey Update

Another big decision, life update, and my IVF journey update! This video focuses on giving you guy a life update; what's going on with me currently. I have had to make another big decision regarding IVF, and I will explain all of it! Last week, I got some disappointing news regarding my embryos. I had to make a big decision with what to do next in my IVF Journey.
I start out the video by giving you a life update, especially with the renovations in our four plex. Then I go into my IVF journey update and the big decision I had to make because of what I found out about my embryos. What I have decided to next in my IVF journey is pretty disappointing to me, but I think is the right thing for me to do.
I hope you enjoy the video, and I hope you guys are taking care of yourselves during the holiday rush!

    I am so thankful youtube suggested this. My heart is with you. My husband and I are going through the same process. 4 years of unexplained infertility. I am also 35 inching my way to 36. I just started oral meds 1 week ago and have been nervous about starting the shots in 2 weeks. I watched your other IVF videos. Very helpful and calming. Your energy made me feel like it is going to be okay. I look forward to your next update. Sending positive vibes.💚

    Thank you for sharing your journey, I’m currently on day 6 of stims and just hearing other stories of other people going through similar situations really helps. Btw I totally relate on the medical worker burnout too! Decided to do an intermittent leave of absence to go through IVF and it’s been super stressful at work on the days I have to go in. Ugh but hang in there and again thanks you for sharing. Btw I’m 38yo with a 10yr old daughter that we conceived through IVF when I was 27 with fresh transfer first time try success! two yrs later though we had a failed frozen transfer of the two embryos we had left in cryo. At my 1st ivf cycle in 2010 they retrieved 18eggs of which 10 were fertilized and of those 10 only 4 were grade A (two eggs transferred each ivf transfer first successful thank goodness for my sweet girl and second two yrs later failed). We though we were done with ttc but here we are again trying for the last time! Good luck to you on your journey.

    I’m new to your channel but also finished my egg retrieval earlier this month (December) and you’re not wrong when you say the stim process is taxing! Hi Brittany, once again here I am really glad that you made this video charting your journey with IVF as my husband and I have found ourselves in almost the same boat except we didn’t get any normal embryos following NGS testing. 😢 It’s really been a shock to us both and we’re just trying to get our heads around it (we only found out yesterday). Seeing that you managed to get better results on the second go round is really encouraging to us both and I’m now going to rewatch your other IVF videos to try and see if you were put on a different protocol or if you did anything else differently at all.

I haven't had it checked since though so that's something we're looking at.

    The unit is coming along nicely. As for the IVF, it's incredible what science can do these days. Genetic testing on embryos . . . I had no idea. 36? Girl, I thought you were mid twenties! Yes, timing does indeed work out exactly the way it is meant to. It really does. I have also been feeling tired and run down lately. If you are into this kind of thing, I would love to see what Christmas looks like over there. Egg retrieval is ROUGH! But my doctor told me it’s Quality over Quantity. Women with PCOS tend to make a lot of eggs but most are abnormal. You are still young so in ur case u may be over stimulated.

Our eggs were gathered at age 31 and our doc suggested that at this age, the chromosomal testing is not necessary and I'm not sure if I should pay for the extra service testing or not.

  • @brittany_elizabeth_rn

    @brittany_elizabeth_rn

    Hi there! I’m going to have to say it depends on your health currently, your health history, your current overall life situation (are you happy in your work life, do you have a stable partner or home life), and your life goals…I know it’s kind of a loaded question because it depends on a lot of factors. At 28 years old, you definitely have time. BUT if you have any suspicion that you might have fertility problems, I would think about starting to conceive sooner than later. I’ve known since my early 20s that I would have fertility problems but I was not in a place in my life until past few years to find the doctors and have the money to find solutions to my infertility. I know I didn’t answer your question very well, but I hope this helps you a little. Best wishes to you in your fertility journey!

    I am a little disappointed about your ableist language regarding your “abnormal” embryos. There are people who are alive and thriving who have Turner Syndrome and Down Syndrome. I personally know a woman with Turner Syndrome who is currently trying to conceive. I would personally rethink the way you are phrasing things and probably wouldn’t have disclosed exactly why the embryos were graded as abnormal.

  • @brittany_elizabeth_rn

    @brittany_elizabeth_rn

    2 жыл бұрын

    I had no idea someone with Turner’s can live that long..let alone thrive!! And from my knowledge, people with DS have many health issues as well. So thank you for sharing! My intention is not to offend anyone, in fact, I feel so bad right now if that’s what I did! I’m coming from purely a scientific perspective because IVF is a medical procedure, so approaching all of this from a medical standpoint. My point I was trying to make was that I was so glad I got the genetic testing done on the embryos so I’m not transferring an “abnormal” one. And most of the time, these embryos are miscarried as the body can sense them being not normal. Anyways, thank you so much for your comment. I hope you are doing well!
