First time seeing Anneke was in 1997...The Nighttime birds tour with The Gathering....Seen her many times, many times, many venues in many countries...but for me the best female vocalist ever;)

I love her voice since "Mandylion". For me, one of the best female singer on this word!

I've been listening to this album for two years now. Every time this voice grabs me and takes me to another place. This voice hurts my heart in a beautiful way. A sweet pain. I often have this album played in my patient's room on early duty. I work as a critical care nurse in an ICU and this room full of flashing and beeping machines is getting a little more human.

Her voice is an sophisticated instrument...

I regret that she doesn’t have more recognition, she has been in music for quite a while, she has voice so particular and beautiful. She should be known as one of the best voices of the contemporary times

My opinion is that she would have it if she had not left the Gathering. Her departure in practice killed the band and on the other hand did not help her career. However magnificent singer she is, her songwriting seem not to keep up with her vocal talents. As a former huge fan of the Gathering I regret that but I also accept her decision.

you'd regret it if it was your fault but it's not. I'm sure she's happy the way things are, when fame comes, also comes studio interference, hypercommercial practices and what not. And about citizen cat's comment, as much as it pains me, I agree with you, TG's songwriting and melody writing was without compare, in my opinion both entities lost in their separation. Yet there are beautiful and memorable songs in both their outputs after. Much would I desire to see a reunion, even if for a little bit, to write new material, alas I doesn't seem likely.

Incredible talent. It’s no wonder that Devin Townsend likes her so much.

Incredible legato skills and spectacular breath control. She can sustain long melodic lines and notes without taking a single breath, this is what always impressed me about her, along with her unique voice tone and powerful resonance. For me, she is the most gifted female voice in the world right now, she deserve more recognition, that's for sure.

INSTANT TEARS!!!!! The Gathering fan since "Always..." here, and of Anneke ever since I heard her (and saw her live with The Gathering and solo). She is MAGICAL.

Looking at Anneke over the years not only is she a great singer songwriter that covered multiple genres and did this to perfection but her different styles of hair over the years rocks as well. Anneke should be a hair model on the side because every different hair style with the different lengths and different hair color over the years matches the beauty of her singing and songwriting. And from what I hear of Anneke is that her personality is amazing as well.

Lady Maestro. Perfect voice.

I just saw her live on her acoustic tour and she was amazing. Only her and her guitar and an amazing setlist. Songs from The Gatherin, Devin Towsend, Ayreon, Pink Floyd, Kate bush, Audioslave and her great solo albums ... all presented with her amazing vocals, humour and that irresistible charm of hers. Met her after the show and she's just as humble and nice as she is on stage.

Anneke is such a tremendous singer. She has that folky quality that’s undefinable. It’s quite lovely here in this piece.

As someone who has only seen a few videos of hers over the past couple of years, this is the first time I could really enjoy her voice. Not that it ever sounded bad, but I never got a sense of what people loved so much about it. This is mind blowingly amazing!

No woman can sing like Anneke. She masters every genre imaginable and is a great composer as well, plus the loveliest, most sympathetic and generous singer from my home country I have ever met.
