It seems so kid friendly and genuinely cute too.

The fact that this exists is awesome beyond words. I don't think I've even seen an indie animation project that has so much fun with itself. The haphazard n64-esque style, the Banjo Kazooie/Spongebob animation, the computer lab humor, and the character designs perfect for both fanart and marketability all naturally blend together into such a light, fun, silly little experience. This deserves a hundred times the views it has now, no matter how many that is.

Honestly, I'm kind of torn if Digital Circus is even as charming as it looks, or at the very least, if there's a single shred of light in it. :p It kind of makes me more interested in this, even if it's more short and simple. :? Third would be Epithet Erased, although I heard it gets pretty dark too, which is sad. :p

The prime directive is to have fun with it, honestly. It's crazy to see such positive reception from everyone and I'm happy to see how far a nice series without evil caveats can go. NOW DON'T GET ME WRONG, I LOVE TADC But there's a trend in colorful media of people not playing nice things straight. I think we need more nice things for the sake of being nice.

I think the reason this clicked so well for me is the absence of any underlying dark edges to the narrative, mascot horror without the horror. The subversion was the lack of subversion, and it couldn't be more refreshing.

3:39 opening up gmod on my old laptop i didnt even realize how long this one was even as i saw alot of the work being done live, straight 5 minutes of highly expressive animation, its wonderful. and it's lovely getting see a lot more of the cast and world that the ost video teased

Amazing episode! So let's think what may have happened. First bug: Inhaus forgot to either unparent or used the prefab yellow flower instead of an instance. The latter is likely. This would imply that if Anna specifically damaged that yellow flower, every other yellow flower will inherit the damage. Second bug: Inhaus forgot to put an object cap. Because the flower box allowed itself to spawn over million flower objects, this means that there was no capping point for instances spawned. Usually, a game would keep track of objects spawned (like 1024 maximum) specifically to make sure that someone like Anna doesn't spawn too many instances and clog up all the memory. As a consequence of both, Inhaus saw that the physics system started to malfunction due to the game needing to keep track of over million flowers.

Finally, I have a new piece of Anna-Logue content to watch _over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over_ again.

The moment I saw this video go up, I sent my older brother (whom I mentioned in my comment of the last video) the link with a text. He loved it. In fact, his favorite scene was the one where all those flower objects are on-screen and the game was stuttering. He said he loved it because he remembers trying to use an item duplication glitch to his advantage in one of the PS1 games he had, and his first attempt went pretty much like that. _(He doesn't remember WHICH PS1 game, though, as it's been a while.)_ Great job on this, MachoBoy. Me and my older bro both agree this is awesome.

Anna is such a mischievous little goober and the other characters are all fun too. I especially like Dram and Inhaus.

I love how Dram's voice is just Mr.Krabs lmao Fitting for the guy. But yeah, loved the short as well. Everyone's so expressive, Anna herself is adorable, and I love details like the animation lagging out from too many frickin' flowers condensed in the room, and how the audio glitches out like an actual game would in this scenario.

The freaking room lagging when there were that many plants on screen was freaking hilarious.

You really have a goldmine of potential here. A gamedev-focused series where the characters are in the game themselves makes for a really unique concept, you've gotten so much out of this one idea of instances alone! Makes for very unique gags (My favorite is the slowdown in the house full of millions of flower pots). Very cool that you actually got the guy who did that Mr. Krabs impression to voice Dram too!

Anna really is the very embodiment of "If theres a way to break it, the player WILL find that way"

This is absolutely genius! Making the problem of the week not just make sense in the universe but also using to its advantages! Ya sold me on this show! Good job!

You dont understand how much i love this, it's so charming and cute and I can't get enough of it. A lil too noisy in the Dram part due to all the echo and alarms, hard to hear the dialog. Anyways I NEED MORE it so worth the wait

I love the show but just not the fandom. As for Hellaverse, i'm not a fan of her as it use to due to not taking criticism enough..

Another example of how game devs will never be full prepared for the infinite well of chaos that is one (1) player. Not to mention how brilliant the timing and execution of 3:39 was, felt that before

Firstly, I am loving the characters and wacky adventures they are going through. It honestly feels like a nostalgic early 2000s CGI cartoon that I'd watch on the weekends. Secondly, I didn't know that Hobo Hobo was the one voicing Dram. I honestly thought he was voiced by Clancy Brown or a really good impersonator. Good to see that he is still pursuing art in some way despite not uploading his own animations anymore.

This reminds me of Roly Poly Ollie. I used to love that show when I was younger, so this is pretty nostalgic for me! I love it

This is so bloody cool, and the low frame rate with Anna and the flowers was funnier then it should of been. I really want to see more of this!

ABOSLUTELY AMAZING. I love all the little nods you put in there! First of all, I love all of the gmod/source engine sound effects because I'm a sucker for those memes. I've heard those flowerpot sounds a million times because I would weld a million of them to each other and slingshot them and break 50 at once. Also I love the way you reproduced the gmod physics lagging as well with the 'skipping record' effect, that's an extremely accurate representation of it and it fits so well there. I really like the house bursting scene, idk if it's intentional but it really reminds me of the boss deaths in the splatoon hero modes. That smug face at 1:31 really reminds me of hat kid; i figure we'll get a lot more hat kid vibes out of Anna in the future. (and the super-low-pixel-and-really-blurry textures make it super funny too) WAIT AND I JUST NOTICED HOW IT MAKES AN EXCLAMATION POINT WITH HER ANTENNA THAT'S SO COOL Also I need to clip that "YOU'RE HOGGING ALL THE RAM" and use it in a soundboard or something; I predict that I will be quoting that daily...

I love this! i was worried it would just be some hidden horror "ah old stuff is scary" thing, but I'm so happy I watched it! a nice silly short made even better by the technological setting. I'm telling you, you've got something special here with this one.

It truly astounds me how this mimics the old games it's inspired by. Everything from the textures to the animation to the camera angles and movement, even the little text bubble was spot on. Bravo.

When you did the character voice reel a while ago and you used the Mr. Krabs voice on Dram I thought you were saying "oh yeah he has a gruff voice not unlike Mr. Krabs", I wasn't expecting him to LITERALLY be Mr. Krabs It's very funny, I like it a lot

Getting a certain coloured flower is truly worth lagging the game for! Loved the episode and found it so very silly, loved thr low quality texture on the flowers too!

I absolutely adore everything about this series! The animation is so fun and bouncy, the characters are so fun to watch and the voice acting is wonderful! The creativity here is also just top notch! This is exactly how I'd like every series to be that plays in a videogame world! I can only imagine how great the actual game will be

I appreciate the details on the flower's taking up roughly 3 GB of data space, and doing some rough estimations of the flower texture, polygon, and texture on the pot itself, and going off of what Inhaus says (each being less than a kilobyte), it could be gathered the plants might be around 750 to 900 bytes of data. I'm of course not 100% but it's probable considering the texture information wouldn't be specifically part of the object itself making its file size not exactly factor into the file size and the polygon being able to be simplified down into a set of co-ordinates for the rendering software to construct. Then taking 3 GB = 3,000,000,000 bytes of data, and dividing that by the average estimated flower file size (825 bytes), that gives us out 3.64 million instances of the flower. This fitting very neatly into Inhaus's assessment that the instances would INDEED need to be in the literal millions to take up so much space. tl;dr, irl file sizes estimated and matching with statements from Inhaus make all the numbers mentioned very accurate and realistic possibilities. When I saw the name DRAM in the OST of the characters, I thought that his name was read as "di-ram". But it turns out that his name is like “drama”, only without the “a”. Or as "drum"

i came across this while watching flipnotes. as someone who had a special interest in video game bugs and animations- and a bit obviously in how games work, this was definitely worth the watch and i hope you make more- i love this so much!!

Honestly, this is pretty technically amazing. It feels like a perfect blend of old and new ideas. I also like the whole game-dev angle you went with.
