If he was not having an affair with her he was falling in love with her. It caused him to suffer serious depression over the failure of his marriage. He has said that his purpose was to be a husband and father, not a rock star. Think he wrote" Too Much love will kill you:, about this time in his life...They obviously got together and eventually married and are still together...but depression follows him and he does still suffer off and on.

You can tell they are in love, it’s the way they have faith in the singing together which was too mushy for me, but when you fall in love silly behaviour just becomes part it

@@kdp8133 It's sad for any wife when her husband falls in love with someone else and vice versa but as you say, it happens. It's nobody's fault. Falling out of love and in love with someone else is hormonal. You can't fight against which way your hormones are going to go.

I love Anita and Brian, they're the sweetest couple. Especially Anita because she's a great person and later in another show she clearly said that she was not proud of being the "scarlet woman". But I also feel kind of sorry for Brian's first wife. And I don't see the point here not to admit that Anita and Brian already were together. It's quite obvious.

Anita Dobson brought glamour to EastEnders and Brian May was the icing on the cake.

I love Anita and Brian to bits it’s just a shame the situation before but that’s none of my business and I respect that. I wish the best for them both. :)

I remember this well. Can't believe how they lied through their teeth that they weren't together when it was quite bloody obvious by their behaviour that they were lol. People who were not around at the time, do not realise what a big TV soap star Anita was at the time; so this was big news. Glad they are still so happy together, they were obviously meant to be.

think Brian suffered a great deal of depression over the failure of his marriage...he was probably trying to protect his family and children...then freddies death a few years later....lot to go through.

Yes, and he's such a lovely, thoughtful man who I've had the pleasure of meeting many times over the last 40+ years. But he couldn't fight his love for Anita. She was the 'one'.

BUT when you put yourself out there in the public eye doing so many TV shows denying they were in a relationship, with Anita being probably the biggest TV star at that time, you are going to attract more attention. They should have stepped back until things sorted themselves out privately. But hindsight is a wonderful thing.

@@kdp8133 Yes, I guess that's just what love does to you. I'm normally a very cautious person but once I was newly in love and did things that were a bit crazy in hindsight and certainly not like me. (About 15 years later, I'm still with that person though.)

@@Daniela_Germany Same with me. I had a whirlwind romance at the age of 48 and was engaged within 2 months. Still happily married at 61. Looking back, it was a crazy period of time but you just can't fight it!

yeah brian may has in my opinion the most distinctive guitar sound of any guitarist i’ve heard. it’s a really hard sound to recreate too. but it’s an amazing rich tone, and my favourite of any guitarist.

They were honest about it in the end, and it’s not our place to judge them at all. I’d say probably the majority will never understand the pressure and strains Queen life and touring life, the life of a rock star has on their families... I’m hoping Chrissy has moved on and found happiness too 🙂

I don't think they were having an affair at the time, but I think it's one of those rare relationships where they both felt a very strong magnetic pull, the more they got to know each other, the harder it got to resist. Brian was very depressed because his marriage had been in trouble for a while before Anita came on the scene, and he was so conflicted he became depressed to the point of feeling suicidal. Definitely some strong connection between the pair of them. 25 years and going strong now.
