    8:16 --- Black's bishop pair from hell does a spectacular job in controlling the white rook! White's bishop is not a dragon, but is supported by three other pawns. Bishop Vs 3 Pawns??? Perhaps, maintaining these pawns to be connected at crucial times is perhaps the necessary remedy for the lost bishop of White, as explained by Agad at 8:45 and at 10:23. A bishop is still worth more than 3 pawns, unless the pawns are well advanced in a coordinated fashion, I suppose.

  • @chriswilliamson9993

    Tennis players tend to vary a lot in form as physical injuries and even aging take their toll. Chess players don't suffer from either to quite the same extent, and so should be more consistent as they age. Someone who's a top grandmaster in their 20s, is still likely to be a strong player when they are 50 (e.g. Anand).

  • @rauhan_sheikh

    @rauhan_sheikh

    Ай бұрын

    @@chriswilliamson9993 chess is as much a physical game as it's mental, there's research to back that up. hence you can see as players age they can lose the sharpness. In Anand's case firstly he also rarely play at the highest level anymore and he is also an anomaly in that case because he's the only one from his generation to still be in the top player category. Also, rating should reflect current strength but in chess it always seems like it lags behind.

    If rating penalizes the person for not being active, that it is not so universal after all. If top 1 player doesn't play regularly, that doesn't make hin a weak player. ... I see now, that both player's rating are wrong (rating & blitz gap): 2742&57, 2782&85.
