I’m so glad my crestie isn’t the only jerk 🤦🏽‍♀️ I try to handle but all he does it bite, death roll, scream, and jump lol

One of mine bit me once - completely my fault though… it thought it was getting crickets and like a moron, I wiggled my fingers😂. It drew blood! But oddly, did not hurt. She must have been in just the right position. Still can’t figure it out, but I did have a paper cut-like cut. Learned myself a good lesson too😂😂😂

Maybe its not handled that much, its lost its tail which means its been really stressed. Basically if you actually take care of your pets then they won't do this. (I've got a crested gecko) and he's never bit me. And his still got his tail (which they don't grow back.

@@chillz7233 You are partly right but if you look at some crestys wrong they drop there tail.Yes he might of been in a bad home before or there might just be a less handled one.

My crested gecko is the polar opposite of the one in the video xD. He is really flighty and gets scared easily but he still got his tail , I’m still trying to calm him down but even after handling him daily for like 10-15 minutes he reacts the same way. He also can’t be bribed with food :c

@@strawberryaxo765 no. This isn't a mating bite. This is aggressive attack bite. They flip themselves like that to damage the thing they are holding onto. I ownerd lizards for over 15 years and have over 30 of them right now.

He's crazy!!

Mine is doing this right now too. I think it may have to do with me putting the heater on his tank. Probably warmed up so he thinks it’s breeding season.

Most of the time cresties that are violent are ones that were strictly used for breeding purposes. He could’ve gotten this one second market from a breeder who didn’t have a use for that male anymore. Or it could be a wild caught adult crested, or just an unlucky individual who thought feeding them with their fingers was good

Is their tail just not on camera or did something happen to it?

Does it hurt when they bite? Mine have never even attempted to bite, they have barked though when I’ve scared them and it sounds so cute. I know they don’t find it cute when they get startled, but it wasn’t done on purpose.

not even a hard pinch they don’t really have teeth more like grooves it’s honestly so rare that they can even draw blood my crestie only drew blood once and it’s cause he got some of the skin on my finger and mine only gets aggressive like then when you try to take him out of his territory but once’s he’s out he’s the sweetest, let’s just say the bites are adorable bc they really are trying but nothing happens 😂

@@kellymckenzie5686 it’s not a stupid question haha, i have one full grown male and 2 juveniles right now waiting to mature for breeding, the bulge isn’t really noticeable until around a year some websites will say like 4 months but i’ve never been able to tell that early personally, but the difference is pretty drastic so i’d say i’f you’re not seeing one it’s a girl!

this is not breeding biting. the way he flips his body after biting is aggressive way they attack. breeding biting is when they bite, stay latched on and chirp.

He only has a bad attitude when I clean his bin and there is high humidity in the washroom from the shower. He has the most personality out of any gecko I've ever owned. He's brave, adventurous, and funny for the most part. My other geckos are chill and don't do much. Lol

My gecko is like this how do I get him to accept me

Only 1 of my Crested Geckos bites, and I realized it's based on how my hands smell. If I use a soap that smells like fruit, she tries to eat me :( The Bath & Body Works Cherry scented hand soap is the worst.

I've never had a gecko with stuck shed when they are housed in bin enclosures. Humidity level stays within a perfect range. 🙂

Do the pinches hurt?

I think the reason why he or she is biting you is because it has not gotten used to your touch yet and it is scared and trying to defend itself

cresties usually aren't aggressive. I'm not accusing anything but they must have scared them somehow and broke trust. that or something on the hand but that is a very attacking bite
