Angry Crested Gecko - Part 3 (Passionate Edition) 😆

Burrito getting physical on a whole new level.. 🤣
He will be going away on a breeding loan to a friend who breeds geckos. I won't be breeding anymore, and thought it would be cool for him to spread some of him genetics. He produces nice tricolors! He will be back one day!

I'm very knowledgeable these days. 🙂 My oldest passed a couple of years ago at the age of 21. He'll definitely be missed.. As for Burrito, he is a breeder for my friend's extreme harlequin group. Crested geckos drop their tail as a defence mechanism, sometimes when stressed. Unlike most geckos, cresties can’t grow their tails back. It isn’t always caused by stress I don’t think though.

    ok just gotta ask: what happened to his tail? in all 3 videos i've seen of him his tail has been very stubby, last i checked lizards are supposed to have a long tail

  • @mellennia9

    @mellennia9

    Жыл бұрын

    It seems to be growing back (that tiny point at the end). Typically if a tail is detached, they'll try to immediately eat it due to the fact it contains literally all the nutrients they've stored and if they can't eat it, they better eat something else soon for nutrients or they'll have a high chance of starving to death faster than if they had eaten said tail.

  • @mellennia9

  • @mellennia9

    @mellennia9

    Жыл бұрын

    @just random videos i share on discord I'm guessing the gecko ate the tail in regards to what happened. Must've detached somehow, but idk what happened with that. As for nutrients thing, the tail is like a lizards pantry. If they lose the pantry, they lise their storage, so they have to catch up on what they lost or starve. It's actually really interesting when you really dive into it all

  • @mellennia9

    @mellennia9

    Жыл бұрын

    @just random videos i share on discord and without that tail, they'll most likely have to eat more often to keep up with their needs and can't risk being without food for too long because they lost their "pantry"
