A lot of people dislike this episode, but honestly, I don't get it. Sure it's kinda fillery, but I thought it was a lot of fun. I especially love all the disguises in this episode. Like, can we all agree that Moxxie looks great dressed as a woman? Also, I kinda hope C.H.E.R.U.B. comes back sometime in the future. It would be fun see the fallen angels try to get revenge on I.M.P.

Its a fine early Helluva Boss episode, but in the grand scheme of things, it is easily the worst and most insignificant one so far. If the cherubs ever come back in the future, then it at least graduates from filler to canon, but otherwise you could really skip the episode and not really miss anything.

There's so many little callbacks like that that make the world feel real. I also love the doodles on the whiteboard of a sad Verosika having to park far away and the Robo-Fizz being eaten, and the "Amazing Imp Twins" circus poster.

With so many callbacks to the pilot, it makes you wonder why they made it non cannon.

Fun Fact: Blitzo's clown disguise is designed after "Blah Blah The Clown", one of Brandon Roger's (voice of Blitzo) most famous characters from his sketches.

I love that they gave Lyle piano keys for teeth in his sinner form. The aspect of taking on traits based on your demise is such an awesome design choice for sinner characters.

Something that's great about this episode is it's the introduction to something Vivzie said awhile ago that Heaven isn't what you think it is. This episode introduces the idea that Heaven isn't a great place like you might hope, it's a bad place just like Hell but in it's own way. It's filled with hypocritical thinking, highhanded superiority complexes, and doing good solely for the sake of the praise you'll receive for doing it. The people and Angels/Cherubs in Heaven aren't all good people, everyone there was/is judged solely based on the result/action and not why. Which means there are a lot of people and Angels/Cherubs that are actually bad people on the inside to varying degrees but pretend to be good all the while being highly arrogant and condescending to everyone around them.

If memory serves correct, Viv said during a livestream a while back that Deerie's dialogue is based on real life interactions between herself and other members of the studio, but cranked to 11. She says she had a tendency to do something similar to the "Yyyyeah, no" during some conversations with her team.

It was the rich people that managed to get into Heaven. Lyle and Loopty's inventions were primarily targeted at benefiting the rich and used the poor as test subjects. So those that wanted to save him would of been rich people that benefited off his technology. And them knowing that rich people can get into heaven if they do specific things to cheat the system sent the Cherubs to pay him back.

@@chriskoloski32 You don't have to be a good person to get into heaven in Helluva Boss/Hazbin Hotel. You just have to of done a certain amount of good things to offset the bad no matter what the reason behind it was. So if a rich person donated to charity enough that's good so they'll go to heaven. Even if the reason they donated was because it would allow them to not pay any taxes that year and the charity they donated to was actually owned by a family member so their family benefited from the donation. Donating is still considered good even if the reasons you donated for were only selfish reasons that benefit you.

The Cuties thing is made even worse when you consider there were like thousands of 'auditions' that were recorded and kept by the producer...

Ya know I really never knew what that cuties thing was till Alicia explained it, I always thought it was like that dance moms show or something.

I think the one thing I realized with IMP in this episode is how much they don’t know how the Heaven or Hell afterlife system really works.

As someone who used to work with those kind of lights the show is about right with the kind of damage they could do to someone on stage if they fall.

I really hope we get to see more of C.H.E.R.U.B, i think they have potential. Fun Fact: I knew of C.H.E.R.U.B long before this Episode came out and i thought they were supposed to a Recurring Rival Group, but instead this Episode ended with them getting banned from Heaven, which i wasn’t expecting. Anyway, i wonder if we’ll see them again?

Someone should point out that all 3 cherubs were banished despite the fact it was only the actions of 1 cherub that lead to the humans death. Also since this is the same universe as Hazbin Hotel, then angels willingly venture to hell to exterminate demons since the people that ruined their life on earth are in hell.

I like how the angels are giving Lyle sugar coated lies, while the demons are giving him harsh truths.

One thing this episode really did for me is show the consequences of one of the show's departures from orthodox theology. While I'd assume more experienced and higher-ranked angles would be different, these cherubs qualify as pure and good by Following the Rules without ever learning anything about why they work. They've never had to learn from mistakes because they've never made a definite mistake: if they had they wouldn't still be in Heaven. Contrast demons (not damned souls, who are more hit and miss). The older ones, the experienced ones who have lived for a very long time on a steady diet of the consequences of every mistake they've ever made. The instant things go wrong, they're doing triage: checking for damages and classifying what's intact, what's too damaged to practically hope to save, and what is salvageable provided it gets immediate attention. Flying into a rage or succumbing to grief is something you do once the emergency's died down enough that you can afford to. You repeatedly see it in this show: the trained restraint of impulse responses long enough to first check on the condition of whatever one cares about. It's not fair of course to compare the lowest-ranked angels to the higher-ranked demons... but this show's treatment definitely is reinforcing the adage that "Nothing succeeds like success, but nothing teaches like failure."

The cherub jingle is a play off of the I.M.P jingle that is only on the pilot.

This episode gave me a theory that people killed by demons or sinners go to heaven because they are murdered by evil people who take their sins upon them, while people killed by angels go to hell because the angels take all their good deeds upon them. They were trying to convince him to off himself so that he goes to Hell, which is what the client wanted. Not fully corroborated by anything, just a feeling based on how every other murder has worked so far - no one came to have revenge on I.M.P. and they didn't just shoot the old man.

I love this episode. The whole lyle and loopty character and backstory were the funniest parts of the season 1 in my opinion. Sadly my opinion is in the small minority.

The Cherubs don't ask for fee from the people they offer blessings... but calling it volunteering it's jumping to conclusions a bit. We still don't know how Heaven operates... from the few shots of it that we got in this episode it looks like a very rich and polished place as a whole, so if we assume that even the lowest class of Angels (the Cherubs) are also considerably wealthy it makes sense they don't charge for their services... However... we also got the fact that Cletus, Collin and Keenie got exiled from Heaven all-together just for ACCIDENTALLY causing the death of a single Human... which implies that they are definetely working under an stablished system/company and that they had to uphold certain rules and codes... so it's definetely not volunteering.
